Review: There are few producers with stronger Balearic credentials than Leo Mas, who used to DJ alongside Alfredo throughout the 1980s. It's little surprise to find him popping up on Is It Balearic, alongside regular studio buddy Fabrice, with a pair of cheery, dubby and sun-kissed dancefloor gems. "Sunrise '87 (Balearic Militant Mix)" reworks an unnamed Balearic classic, with delay-laden horns and guitars riding a bubbling, Italo-influenced groove, while "No Light" is an undulating, mid-tempo dub disco roller in an Idjut Boys/Chicken Lips vein. The remix package is, predictably, rather strong, with the slo-mo Balearic dub revision of "Sunrise '87" by Joe's Bakery Band standing out.
