Review: Polifonic used their debut release, a multi-artist EP called Itria, to set their stall out as a label dedicated to joining the dots between Afro-cosmic, dream house and other wide-eyed retro-futurist sounds. There's a similarly delicious, loved up feel about much of this sequel. Regular studio buddies Lipelis and Andy Butler (Hercules and Love Affair) express their love of Balearic house on the deliciously dreamy, Flamenco guitar-and-TB-303-sporting loveliness of 'Generations of Sunsets', before Eternal Love doff a cap to the greats of Italo-house on 'Kusai Riviera'. Elsewhere, Yu Su provides some predictably trippy, tribal-tinged, semi-ambient excellence (the hard-to-pigeonhole but lovely 'Oil'), while Benedek layers up the melodies, chords and loved-up sonic textures on 'Desperado'.

Review: Fresh from dropped an EP of killer edits on Bahnsteig23 under the alternative Beard in Dust alias, Leonid Lipelis pops up on Aussie imprint Animals Dancing. Happily, the cheekily named I Did These For Myself But Now It's For Everyone contains some of the Moscow-based producer's best material yet. Check, in particular, melodious "Children Song", where sampled Japanese children's chants rise above a snappy, delay heavy drum machine groove and a Marimba style melody. Then "Video Track" is a similarly jaunty and positive affair, with more Kalimba style melodies and African chants weave in and out of a fuzzy, hybrid deep house/nu-disco backing track. While not as instantly arresting as "Children Song" , it's nevertheless an impressive dancefloor workout.
