To mark the occasion, the Bristol-based imprint has offered up this vast, 34-track compilation featuring new and unheard cuts from its ever-expanding family of artists. Naturally, it not only reflects Shall Not Fade's output, but also that of its various offshoots and series. Review: Shall Not Fade's annual birthday compilations are always worth a look, not least because they tend to be packed with plenty of previously unreleased material from label regulars, friends and newcomers. This seventh birthday edition - the label's fifth compilation in total - is another epic, with 28 high quality tracks jostling for your attention. The track listing reflects the label's eclectic but largely dancefloor-focused approach, with highlights including the stomping big room techno darkness of Alan Fitzpatrick and Reset Robot's 'Alpha', the organ-rich New Jersey style peak-time house bump of Lis Sarocca's 'Oasis Floor', the bumpin' speed garage revivalism of 'All The Girls' by Main Phase, the warped, MC-sporting two-step wobble of Killjoy and Kwam's 'Active', and the deep and dreamy breaks/two-step fusion of 'Overcome' by Adam BFD.

Review: Last year, Lis Sarroca followed up fine EPs for Mobilee, Hot Haus and Chiwax with a Shall Not Fade label debut brimming with breakbeat-driven deep house treats. 'Ghost House', her admirable sequel for the same label, brilliantly pitches down the tempo in terms of more hallucinatory thrills, with the Barcelona-based producer wrapping a shuffling drum machine beat in winding acid lines, rising and falling melodies and trippy electronics. MLiR brilliantly drags it towards peak-time dancefloor territory via a sturdy, uplifting, off-kilter acid house tweak, before Sarroca offers up two house-tempo treats of her own: the brilliantly dubby, bass-heavy deep house warmth of 'Deux' and the trance-inducing, strobe-lit thrills of 'NSCDS'.

Review: The joy of the digital download editions of the DJ Kicks series is not so much the included DJ mix - which, of course, is invariably excellent - but the accompanying full-length, DJ friendly tracks gathered by that edition's selector, in this case Elevate Berlin record store owner (and fine producer) Cinthie Christl. Her mostly club-friendly selections are little less than superb, moving from driving, organ-and-bass-rich U.S-style house (Terrence Parker, Niles Cooper, Sandil, her own exclusive 'Organ (DJ Kicks)') and life-affirming piano-house (Ruff Stuff), to deep two-step (Camion Bazar), slamming techno-funk (Anil Aras), dusty techno (Adriyano), deep breakbeat wooziness (Ben Hauke) and deep, dreamy acid jack ('Anna Wall'). In other words, it's a blindingly good selection - and Cinthie's DJ mix is wildly entertaining, too.

Review: Shall Not Fade rounds off its busiest year to date with a sixth anniversary compilation that's packed to the rafters with previously unreleased tracks from its now sizable family of artists. Also reflective of the sounds showcased by Shall Not Fade's various sub-labels and offshoots, the 24-track set confidently strides between deep two-step (Black Loops), saucer-eyed ambient jungle (Kessler), colourful deep house (Lis Sarocca), lo-fi jack tracks (Cinthie), loopy disco-house (Adelphi Music Factory), jazz-funk flavoured house warmth (Felipe Gordon), analogue-rich broken beat (Yosh), post-UKG heaviness (DJ Crisps), jaunty and jazzy 4/4 garage (DJ Swagger) and the kind of smile-inducing, huggable dancefloor goodness that defies simple categorization (Tilman and Phonk D).

Review: This six-tracker from Lis Sarroca opens with the classic Peech Boys "come with me, tonight's the night" vocal sample that Altern-8 used on 'Activ-8', making clear from the outset the strong appreciation of dance music history that's evidenced throughout the Barcelonian producer's canon. Tracks here range from the discofied 'Hi Montana' to the fierce, driving acid of 'La Neta', via the dreamy small-hours deepness of 'AX' and the more accessible, peaktime vibes of 'Round & Round', but whatever house style Ms Sarroca turns her hand to, the production's always polished and Da Funk is always in full effect.
