Review: Dub Sector have been running riot of late, and this latest compilation from them shows just how crazy it's been, as they bring us thirteen of their finest heaters from the last 12 months, all bundled together into one weighty batch. We hear some absolute dirt from heavyweight names such as Dalek One, Rez and The Widdler, along with some seriously naughty selections from the likes of Kwizma with his sub heavy 'Gravitation' original, and JWiRE's big room smasher 'Amen Ra'. For us, the steaming low end of Lory Kong's 'My House' renders it a serious highlight, along with the colourful bass synths of 'SpaceJail's 'Interstellar'.

Review: Dubstep compilations as a whole are often difficult to nail perfectly, as it is easy for tracks to get lost in the space between. However, we can assure you that the team at Dubtribu have done a magnificent job with their new extended project 'Deep Dub Inside 2018', which features heaters from the likes of Yin Yang Audio, Proove, Arta, Muhla. Stizzla, Eater and many more. For us the standout recordings come in the form of Nosq & Grawinkel's robotic combustion in 'Strange', alongside the smooth drum processing of Lory Kong's 'Haters' and Kismat's tearout triumph in 'Cosmic'.

Review: For this one we step deeper into the realms of sublow dubstep as Lory Kong branches out to the Hatched imprint for a two-tracks shack out, showcasing his heavyweight stylings perfectly. We start off with the sumptuous sub bass processing and minimalistic drum placements of '100 Grit', a masterpiece in underground dubstep production. On the flip we are treated to the amphibious roller that is 'Supression', which is driven by its swampy bass tones and bird-like stabs, bringing a really unique type of energy to the mix.

"Nonstop" is a green-fingered dream with its dense subs, rolling, restrained drums and precision dug spoken sample. "Culture" takes us deeper into the dance with more of a machine swing to the groove and immense atmospheres and roboticized human textures. Nonstop talent.

Review: Since emerging from the dungeon in the last year, the deeper side of dubstep has really found its soul again. With the emphasis on groove rather than spacious sound design, there's some incredible music available again. And Croydon-based Dubtribu are one of the labels leading the charge, as proved by this epic track end-of-year collection: highlights across the exclusive cuts include Yin Yang Audio's siren-blaring sludge-stomper "Radiation Nation", Sirius's east-meets-west string-plucked skanks on "Fight" and Jackson's horn-heaving, classic early Rusko sounding funker "Solidarity".
