Review: Step into the festive groove with "Buone Vacanze Vol 3," a vibrant release on the Bordello A Parigi label that brings together the talents of Alberto Melloni, Luca Bacchetti, Modula, and the Dutch maestro Red Woodchuck. It's a holiday celebration of musical prowess and collaboration that will have you dancing your way through the season. The EP kicks off with "Vacanze di Natale," setting the tone for the party with four energetic jams that feature the enchanting vocals of Carmen Lubrano from Italy. Review: With a storied history of releases on labels like Ovum, Saved, Crosstown Rebels and Wagon Repair in the past, it's been Luca Bacchetti's own Endless label that has defined his music during the past five years. With a welcomed entry into the catalogue of Japanese label Endless Flight (no relation) in 2019 too, it was his Secret World album that lauded him most praise, and in 2020 it's lead to the procurement of some intriguing album remixes. Italian jazz pianist and keyboardist Stefano Onorati redefines "Awakenings" as a classical ambient number full of orchestral strings, keys and reverberation (for fans of Philip Glass) with Bacchetti's own remix to "Black Swan" delivering a similar atmospheric style only underpinned by drums, shakers and spiralling walls of synth. Minimal drums and percussions build to a huge crescendo of dramatic classicalisms in Mathias Schober's remix to "The Bridge", with Mexico's Inigo Vontier going bleepy and minimal to his rework of "Unconsciously United".

Review: It sounds like Damian Lazarus' label has got another anthem in waiting on its hands with "Tango". Based on organic drums, it's looser and less rigid compared to the typical tool house track, yet its combination of double bass and dubby shanty riffs ensures it has a subtle yet effective dance floor clout. However, it's Bachetti's use of mournful, plaintive keys that ensure "Tango" is destined to become a classic for those who like dreamy, expansive house. Eduardo Castilo provides a suitably atmospheric version for those DJs who like it even deeper. Apart from its universal appeal "Tango" shows that it's still possible to tease new shapes out of the nouveau tribal house approach. Recommended!
