Review: As minimal house continues to hit the mainstream, there's no denying the likes of Rockstar Games and Ibiza hot house CircoLoco have something to do with it. Combining to create CircoLoco Records, it continues ist summer run of releases with a new various artist EP in Dreamin' Violet - featuring future classics from Luciano, Red Axes, Carl Craig, Butch and Margaret Dygas! With Luciano going deep, stripped back and minimal in "Mantra For Lizzie", Red Axes sends in a frenetic number of drum machine and synth laden mayhem. Carl Craig delivers a bass heavy, beat free and epic synth number "Forever Free", with Butch throwing down a stuttered rave vibe in the broken beat, drum and bass centric "Raindrops". With a slight Detroit mode surfacing too in Margaret Dygas percussive "Wishing Well", she keeps it slightly abstract to complete a package that presses all the right buttons - peak time or after hours.

Review: Cadenza head honcho Luciano has arranged a special series of EPs to coincide with the 15 year anniversary of his revered imprint, launching the first one a little while back dedicated to the summer season. Sequentia Vol 2 takes us into the Fall season with dimmer tones and snug vibrations, displaying all of Luciano's unique productions skills and his unrivalled touch on the mixing desk. From the enchanting classical vibes of "Sphere" or "My Fantasy" which are perfect for chilled afterhours moments, to sublime electronica on the deeper tip perfectly exemplified on epics like on "Aether" -it is evident that the Swiss legend still has the magic touch.

Review: Veteran Swiss-Chilean minimal producer Luciano is back with an impressive new EP that goes back to his underground roots. The Cadenza boss presents the Quarion EP for Santiago based homeboys Drumma, where he goes deep, dubby and hypnotic in near majestic fashion on the pre-peak time thriller "Barriere De Lumiere" (original mix). It also features a dreamy and ethereal rendition by label head honcho Felipe Venegas later. This is followed by the tripped-out and reductionist mini-funk of "Bip Bop Bap" (original mix) which is perfect for getting weird at the afterhours. A wonderful return to form from the superstar DJ.

Review: Well isn't this quite the collaboration: Cadenza boss Luciano teams up with NYC house legend David Morales on "Esperanza". Morales and Luciano composed the track together, but then each one refined their own personal mix. The "Luciano Flow Latino Mix" is a groovy and hypnotic cut that's perfect for open air extended sets this Summer from The White Isle to Berlin: you can expect to be bearing this one a lot, hypnotic stuff! It's then over to the Def Mix main man, following up those tremendous editions of The Red Zone series on Radio Slave's Rekids imprint last year. Morales carries on with his tremendous new style on this dark and tunnelling techno cut, full of heady and cavernous textures, thunderous/reverbed drenched drums and generous white noise build ups for added drama!

Review: Luciano doesn't release much material on his sub-label Basaec - there have only been two EP since its inception three years ago - but as Saved demonstrates, he clearly reserves the imprint for more esoteric material. That's not to say that both tracks on the third release avoid the dance floor; if anything, their lopsided but linear grooves are exactly the kind of minimal techno that we have come to expect from the Swiss-Chilean artist. But it's what happens between the rhythms that set them apart. "Lost Lymbo" (sic) resounds to spiritual vocal samples, flickering, dubby chords and swirling effects. Meanwhile on "Pato's Track", Luciano enlists the services of Argenis to turn his chattering groove into a wonderfully tropical excursion, populated by low-end squiggles and indistinguishable, hypnotic chants.

Review: House DJs MYNC offer an exhaustive overview of the tracks that rocked the long-running White Island venue this summer. In the soulful corner, there's the Maxi Soundsystem take on Boris Dlugosch's "Look Around You". Featuring Roisin Murphy on vocals, it does a lot to sweep away the rainy autumn blues. Ten Walls deliver the trancey goods in the shape of "Gotham", which revolves around a belching bassline, but the most notable aspect of Ibiza 2013 is the way minimal producers have come into the house fold. Loco Dice borrows a prog house bassline for 'Detox' and Luciano's "Rise Of The Angel" - remixed here by Andrea Oliva - is a piano-led, wide eyed deep anthem.

Review: In recent years Swiss-Chilean DJ Luciano's stock has risen to the point where he has enjoyed an Ibiza residency and has broken into the dance music mainstream. However, this release signals a move back towards the abstract minimal approach that Luciano made his mark with on Blind Behaviour. "Cachai" is still geared towards the dance floor, but its lithe, stripped back beats flit about the arrangement like sparks coming off a camp fire. At the same time, soulful vocal samples and Moog melodies enhance the track's ethereal feeling. On the flip, "Dance Unity" is a rhythm-heavy affair, but its dubbed out drums and niggling acid means it has the same otherwordly feeling as "Cachai".
