Review: With releases on Shall Not Fade, Dansu Discs and Cuttin' Headz to his name already, Luuk van Dijk is a producer on the rise. Here the talented Dutch youngster makes his bow on No Art with another strong EP for of quality, club-focused fare. The real headline-grabbing attraction is title track 'Get My Luv', a boisterous and sweat-soaked chunk of retro-futurist, late-90s influenced hedonism that wraps Tenaglia/Junior Vasquez-esque beats in echoing female vocal snippets and heady organ stabs. Elsewhere, 'Come To Party' is a deeper and darker exploration of the same period of muscular New York house with added Latin elements, and 'Inside My Mind' is a TB-303 driven peak-time workout that should get plenty of club plays in the weeks and months ahead.

Review: Fast-rising Manchester imprint Dansu Discs has turned to fast-rising Dutch producer Luuk van Dijk for its' latest release, the label's fourth of 2024. He starts in confident mood with title track 'Space Is The Place', a crunchy-but-thickset slab of saucer-eyed peak-time house joy peppered with cut-up vocal snippets, dreamy chords, rushing lead lines and booming bass, before subtly doffing a cap to classic piano house, mid-90s MK productions and late '90s bassline house on 'Blow My Fuse'. Nostalgic breakbeat house number 'Take Me Higher' follows, before Harrison BDP offers a stunningly uplifting, lusciously loved-up deep house remix of 'Space Is The Place'. It boasts a genuinely stunning, bleep-sporting, Italo-house influenced breakdown that's worth the admission price on its own.

Review: Luuk Van Dijk is a rising star on The Netherlands' burgeoning tech-house scene and he presents the new banger for Leeds based powerhouse Gruuv. The Amsterdamer serves up three funked-up main room bangrs on The Pusher EP, with the title track's tough rolling attitude being just perfect to light up the main-room before peak time. Speaking of the peak time, that's exactly what he has in mind on the heaving acid express of "Acid Trip" which will appeal to fans of the Drumcode sound. Finally, he gets back to the program on the moody backroom dub of "On Your Mind" - a dubby DJ tool that will suit heads down moments on dance floors as far as The White Isle and beyond.
