Review: Since their label inception back in 2018, the team over at Wisdom Teeth have done a great job at both cultivating and innovative forward thinking electronic music, with their roster featuring a number of true veterans of the game. This latest compilation takes the title 'Club Moss' and sees them assemble 14 fiery original creations, featuring the likes of Facta, K-Lone, Maya Q, LUXE, Purelink and more, all of whomst deliver naught but quality in their chosen creations. For us, despite this being a longer project, there are two clear standout recordings, the first of which is of course Cousin's atmospheric drifter in 'Tooth 4 Tooth' which gives us a spacious, exploratory feel. Alongside this, the moogy sub bounces of Tammo Hesselink's 'Cupboard Cylinder Salon' original also tops the list for us, showcasing the variation of styles that sits within the Wisdom Teeth camp.
Review: The team over at Goddezz have compiled a silky collection of smokey weapons with this latest 'Enchanted' compilation, exploring the more drum-driven side of the garage and house spectrum, featuring a number of very exciting names. These include the likes of Luxe, Baraka, Faff, Local Group, Mabel and more, all supplying us with some serious weaponry that is sure to dizzy dances across the country. Our highlights however, would have to firstly include the glittering beauty of Angel D'lite's arpeggio-driven masterclass in 'Cloud 96', followed by the original version of Luxe's 'Dance Enchantress', which fuses eras with extreme sonic precision. All 8 featured tracks, be them standalone or remix, pack an original punch on this one!
Review: It's a great thing for the team at JunoDownload to see a new Dansu Discs product hit the shelves, with LUXE & Tom Place this time providing the goods. We begin with a euphoric glide through arpeggiating melodic dips and glitchy soundscapes in 'Moonquake', giving us a wondrous introductory energy to play off. From here, the more traditional 2-step twists and eerie atmospherics of 'Out Of My Head' up the energy levels even further, before we jump into a dungeon-like deluge of bassy bumps on 'Polarities'. Finally, we get to revisit 'Moonquake' for an exclusive remix from Angel D'Lite, who gives the original a new lease of life through apocalyptic harmonies and smooth jungle drumlines. More fireworks from the Dansu crew once again!
