Review: Lynx on Doc Scott's ThirtyOne imprint... Need we say more? Not really but it would be rude not to acknowledge just how good both these tracks are. 'This Is Not An Exit' is a great set opener with its tense, creepy intro and cat-like groove that prowls along with grace and stealth. 'Not You' takes things to even starker places as we're showered with bright yearning chords but anchored with an oozing low end and a sharp springy finger clicking riddim. Subtle but savage; classic Lynx.

Review: Joining dots between two sounds that came from the same mindset and very similar streets and cultural context, Influence Records have curated something incredibly special here with 'Diaries From Detroit'; a VA collection boasting some of the most talented names across the D&B generations from Seba to Conrad Subs. All exploring those cold futuristic aesthetics that both jungle and Detroit techno share, highlights can be found at every twist and turn but you'd be crazy not to check the likes of subtleties and immense subs of A Audio's 'Mercury', the ice cold grumbles of Lynx's 'De-Tro' and the shimmering dub techno influences on L-Side's powerful 'Point Of View'. What a collection.

Review: Lynx is the definition of experienced, both as a solo producer and as an artist & label founder on his own Detail Recordings. Those talents shine through on this single on Aaron Jay's Influence label, and this single shows the two sides to his personality; the A-side, 'Phukalupe' featuring Danger D & Spikey T, hits hard but in a subtle manner, as a huge groaning bassline plods along with a combination of weight and nonchalance. The flip, 'Under The Stars' featuring Jakobi & Kagey is old-school liquid vibes and it reminds us a tad of DJ Marky, especially as the earlier funk stabs give way to bouncing basslines that are tailor made for the club - proper tune this.

Review: Lynx isn't a name that we would immediately associate with Serum & Benny V's Souped Up label, but the long-time producer and owner of Detail Recordings has used his experience and diversity of sound to come out with an absolute corker of a single. 'Rap Dude' has been produced in tandem with fellow Detail artist Kusp, and the pair have come out with a frantic number that wraps a wallowing bassline around a catchy sample, a tried and tested formulae for clubland euphoria that works incredibly well here. The flip is a Lynx-only production with one of the sickest beat patterns we've heard in a long, long time; a stomping percussive display of pure force that grabs you by the scruff of the neck and doesn't let go. Serum and Benny have flipped the script once more.

Review: Very few artists do vocal drum & bass like Lynx; hooky, soulful but futuristic and uncompromised, they rub up just as sensually against the dark techy monsters as they do with the deeper tracks. Case in point: "Shadows" with long-time sparring partner Master X. Picking up where "Street Lights" left us, the message is one of total pneumatic murkery. "Loopy Sue" ain't no fading wallflower either; alluring, wily and characterised by a rising steel drum harmonic riff, it's coded deep with Lynx's trademark unpredictability. Once again, the secret's in the Detail.

Review: Rawness! In case you haven't noticed, Lynx's output over the last few years on Detail has been nothing short of heaven. Real jungle with no pretention and vast layers of innovation, every track has been fun, nuclear for the floor yet completely different. This release is yet another example as "Steel Works" smelts our bones down to dust with industrial strength energy and textures while "Fathom No 8" starts off slinky and naked and gradually dresses before our very ears with added elastic bass tones and cosmic elements. Singular (as always).

Review: Oh boy... Lynx is unstoppable right now. Firing shots from his freshly-energised Detail pistols on a monthly basis, the output has been nothing short of incendiary. Following "Vault 3" come two brand new originals: the pneumatic dancehall drill of "Bean Stash" will cause riots while "15th Time Lucky" steps and licks with a drum pattern and taut sense of sprung funk that discerning junglists (and dodos) will instantly recognise. Feeling lucky?

Review: The devil is in the Detail: Lynx's current assault on the game is a fine reminder of how ageless D&B is when it's done on its own terms and not by trend of numbers. Who knows how old some of these cuts he's been shotting lately are? Who cares? What's most important is that they bang: The angular alien chatting tech funk of "Moiog", the sharp steps and flexes of "The Beast", the hand drum springiness and demonic laughter of "Favella Phantom", the cinematic future jazz freakery of "Love Has Got Away" Beats on this level don't come with a sell-by date.

Review: Lynx is hammering them out right now. His once-dormant label Detail now charging back on turbo cylinders, he's returning to a wide range of archive material and finally giving it the life it deserves. Each cut unique and repping a different side to the longstanding artist, it's Lynx at his most unpredictable and exciting: "Street Lights" rolls with a TC-style vocal charm and stretchy, elastic bass groove while "Jungle Side" is a far-out trip down future's memory lane with its stuttering FX and staggered breaks. True originality.

Review: As if a 15 track of unreleased gems wasn't quite enough from the legendary Mr Disco Dodo, here comes another five-piece set that spans serious eras and dimensions. Highlights include the fuzzy calypso jauntiness of "Some Day", the lean rolls and tubular groove of "New Shoes" and the slower-motion big-drum funk festival "Jungle Pop".
