Review: As a label, we are always pretty impressed with what the FatKidOnFire team are able to deliver, a feeling which extends to this tidy new remix drop as they unleash four new versions of previous corkers. Firstly, District unleashes a powerful display of steppers-inspired madness with his sub-heavy resketch of 'F#cking Spiders' from Dark Harmonics, before Chad Dubz lets the LFOs run wild with his dubwise overhaul of Maes' 'Jah Jah Livin' original. From here the project takes a more experimental turn as Leon Switch delivers an organic, crunched up rework of 'Dossier' from WZ, before Biome gets busy rebuilding the trippy synth flutters and powerful basslines of 'Nilaari' from Chad Dubz, putting the finishing touches on another top quality drop!

Tallawah/Stand Up Strong
Review: Although they may not be a label with the highest quantity of output, the thing we absolutely adore about the Navy Cut team is the consistency of quality we find within their releases. Take this new three tracker from Mae5 for instance, the blend of nostalgic dubstep flavours and newschool production techniques is nothing short of sublime, with the title track 'Tallawah/Stand Up Strong' being a perfect example of that. From here, the dungeon ready drum drops of 'Flippy Neck' give us a pulsating second hit of dubstep energy, before the EP then rounds off with 'Gods Gold', a monsterous homage to dub music, driven by an engulfing sub-line and cooling melodica swipes.

For The Heads Compilation Vol 3
Various

Review: Now with dubstep compilations, it's often the case that we will see projects stacked up with a couple of bangers and a bag of average creations, however this latest fifteen track body from the For The Heads gang consists of nothing but pure steppers flavour. The line up alone is immense, pulling together some of the biggest new school names in dubstep as a whole, including: WZ, Kali, Ome, Mistah, SBK, Mungk and more. If we had to pick a pair of favorites, it would have to include the delicious delays and marshy bass textures of 'Deep Meditation' from Teffa, alongside the glittering LFO's and scattered drum beats of 'Curren't from Sedan. Awesome stuff!

Review: If you are looking for seriously smooth 140 music, then honestly look no further than this diamond encrusted pack of gems from MAES, who teams up with After Dark Music for four stunning originals. It's easy to get lost in the silky reverberated horn sections of 'Reversal Dub' from the off, but you will soon find yourself sleepily stepping into the eerie chimes and rolling LFO's of 'Ruck'. The project takes a dubwise turn next as 'True In Livity' then moves in to play, stacked with smooth chord movement and punchy drum combos, before with finish up on the epic soundscapes and synth design of 'Kingdoms Of The Wise', which really takes you somewhere completely different.
