Elevator - (3:01) 175 BPM Hot
Contact Point, Magenta, Maurizzle & Tocsin - "Spaceship" - (4:24) 174 BPM
Review: Following the massive EP from Bunnerz last month, Make Your Era returns with another epic care package for all dnb heads. Make way for 'Harley' from Contact Point Magenta. Possibly a love letter to Harley D or maybe the start of letter to Santa for a Harley Davidson next Christmas, either way, we totally approve of each cut here. 'Harley' comes with a touch of sensual soul thanks to the vocals, 'Say You Will' comes with some very quirky, oddball funk, 'Elevator' is the roughhouse jam of the pack while 'Spaceship' sees Maurizzle and Tocsin join the pack for a high flying finale. Get your motors running!

Downtown (Magenta Remix) / Something (Alphaze Remix)
Alphaze - "Downtown" (Magenta remix) - (4:28) 175 BPM Hot
Magenta - "Something" (Alphaze remix) - (4:01) 175 BPM
Review: Next up on the ever-ready Screwface imprint, a shell shocker of a release comes forward as we see a super exciting link up between Magenta & Alphaze, delivering a pair of fiery remixes to keep the blood pumping warm. First up, the Magenta remix of 'Downtown' sees a fiery display of classic jump-up style synth patterns and choppy drums to back them up, giving us a rave-ready piece of weaponry to kick off. On the flip to this, we then see Alphaze unveil a top quality rethink of 'Something', focussing even more heavily on gritty synthesiser designs and minimal drum skips, with a number of a fueling percussive additions on top for good measure. Spicy stuff!

Afraid EP
Afraid - (4:28) 175 BPM Hot
Blood Sport - (4:28) 175 BPM
The Boss - (4:26) 175 BPM
Games - (3:40) 175 BPM
Review: Either running casually late for this year's Halloween, or remarkably keen for spooky season 2024, two bright new-gen jump-up stars Foe and Magenta link-up for the pranged out creeper 'Afraid'. Moody but moving, 'Afraid' takes a classic mid 2000s flavoured style of jump-up and laces it with really creepy horror sample. The result is dancefloor and double drop heaven. It's backed up with plenty more party-punchers such as the groaning, twisted 'Games' and the murderation murker 'Blood Sport'. All made for mixing pleasure, there's enough tricks and treats here.

Review: Next:Gen Audio continue living up to their name with this stunning VA EP that's bursting with new generation talent. Magenta, HYDRO, Junger and 7Age have all showed serious skills in recent years and now they're here together on this beautiful summer-inspired session. Magenta shows off his soulful side with the piano-tickling 'Everything' while HYDRO gets on some sexy 23rd century RnB swag with 'Freaky'. Elsewhere Junger goes on a wonderful dreamy trip with 'Making Something' before 7Age flips the sweet switch on 'I Won't Run' with a powerful emotional finale. Sun's out, guns out!

Magenta & Critical J - "Get Down" - (4:28) 175 BPM Hot
Magenta & Lockerz - "Entertainment" - (4:31) 175 BPM
Review: All aboard the VIP train! Two big Magenta collab jams originally releases in 2021 on Timeless Audio are now being boosted by Cryptik on this special VIP double header. 'Get Down VIP' (with Critical J) has that sleazy, low-riding groaning funk coded into every twist and turn while 'Entertainment VIP' (with Lockerz) gets even funkoer with its crazed synth squiggles and grizzling and gutter-bound bass. Naughty!

The Remixes Volume 1
DisKrete - "Feeling High" (Nu Elementz remix) - (4:23) 175 BPM Hot
Magenta - "Adventure" (DisKrete remix) - (4:24) 175 BPM
Review: Slaying with the Layerz; BassLayerz roll out a brand new collection of remixes with these two savage reboot renditions from the likes of Nu Elementz and DisKrete. 'Feeling High' takes us back to 2020 but Nu Elementz bring much more of a wonky, warm twist to the surreal bassline. Meanwhile DisKrete returns the favour with his own take on Magenta's 'Adventure'. Originally released in 2022, this new update is given a whole new refit with a range of grotty, springy sounds and more of a swing on the groove. A remix you could set your watch by.

Review: Magenta on Gradient... Do we need to say any more? Okay, Magenta on Gradient with an AMPLIFY collab. If we need to say more than that then you're clearly not up to speed on how big this EP is. Six tracks in total, this is the Czech artist's most accomplished collection of tracks so far as he flexes and fires from vibe to vibe. The addictive riffy hook of 'Bad Girl' sets the tone and pace before each proceeding cut knocks us off our feet. Highlights include the savage brutalist funk of 'Two Grams', the hectic dancefloor tension of 'Chance' and the finale cut (with Junger) - 'Position'. Full strength!

Review: Following their launch release this summer, Scoped Sounds return with another many-handed bruiser bonanza. Jay Jay's driving but co-pilots throughout the trip include the likes of Magenta, Pengo and Alphaze as we're flung from bassline pillar to breakbeat post. Highlights include the filtered string sweep on the lead track 'The Thing', the warbling reverse bassline and KO punch energy of 'Everything Cool' and the dramatic stabs and a grizzly bassline twist on 'Questions' but to be real, the whole EP hits hard. A very exciting snapshot of where jump up is at as we skank into 2023.

Review: Following a few years of free downloads and events, since launching their full label in Jan this year Wonky Goose have been honking out the bangers. Now time for the next episode as a selection of artists get elbow deep on the remix front. Sudley shakes up Entei's 'Crazy' to grizzly new levels, Volition brings a new twist Magenta's savage 'Sleeping Pills' while Spadez adds a new layer of rattling dark funk Formula's 'Sniffing Monkey'. Elsewhere Guzi's 'Detonate' gets a bubbly sub-shaking rinse out by Teej and man-of-the-moment DRZ takes GUE:T's 'Thallo' to a dramatic new high. Wonky Goose... They give you wings!

Invicta Audio have only been a legit label for 24 months and look at all the artists they've brought through and bangers they've given us so far. Here's a little reminder in the form of this short, sweet but extremely banging 'Best Of' collection. Featuring the likes of Harley D, Jam Thieves, Magenta, Scuffed and vocalists like the inimitable Devilman and Aleya Mae, it's a great way to get up to speed on the damage Anton Bailey's label is causing right now. Review: 15 years deep, but never on the low down... Logan D's label continues to operative and thrive at the forefront of jump up D&B with this epic anniversary collection. Loaded with new versions, upfront material and unreleased classics, it's a fittingly fresh and excitable package for a label with such tenure. Highlights include Voltage's curmudgeonly remix of Serum's 'Up In Smoke', the never-ending legacy of Dominator with the previously unreleased 'Outta Control', brand new badness from Slipz in the form of 'Badman' and timeless rawness from Heist with 'Bravado'. Review: Harry Reader aka BlckHry, who some of you may know for his killer remix of "That Girl", returns for his second project on London-based Bagged & Tagged,, this time around featuring a weighty collaboration with Magenta titled "Bring It Back". The title track is a gnarly stepper that means serious business, the deeper vibe of "Love" is a more evocative vocal led cut, while more techstep awaits on "Got Too" and closing it out with the grime-infused roller "Our World".

Review: Power to the purple! Just in the last few months alone Magenta has dented our souls with killer releases on the likes of Pick N Mix, Informal, Next:Gen Audio, Low Down Deep and Invicta Audio. And that's just since clubs re-opened here in the UK. Now comes this disgusting stinker session on Cave. Three tracks, three heart attacks, we kick off with 'Something', a prowling, cat-like piece of jump-up that manages to both scram and purr at the same time. Deeper into the EP we go wild to the angular scratches and scrapes on the doobie-sparking grot-fest 'R.I.P' before getting naughty to the gnarly sandpaper funk of 'Hotel Bop'. Turn it up.

Review: Boh 'Selecta'! Magenta returns to Low Down Deep with this crucial four-track attack. The title track 'Selecta' says it all; loose rattling breaks and a riff you'll be whistling for days and some very dreamy elements in the mix. The rest of the EP remains at this high level of dancefloor luxury; 'Skeng' is a slinky, low-riding rudeboy roller, 'Endz' keeps it ghetto with a huge sporting exhaust of a bassline while Blckhry joins the party for the final gully blow-out 'No Escape'. Rewind, selecta come again!

As always with Invicta the range is right across the board as we slide and glide from smooth soul (H8TO - 'This Place', Refracta - 'Touch') right the way to utterly gutterly filth (Gonda - 'Bulll', Harley D - 'Forever') and all banger styles in between. Other highlights include Phizical's super-slinky 'Feeling', B-Plexx's soaring vocal work-out 'Too High' and Jam Thieves' moody creeper 'Black Light'. Happy birthday Invicta!

Review: Invicta Audio are doing us all a massive solid with this release, simply because compilations featuring incredible artists are just the best and the more music we get towards our ear drums the better. The Echo LP is a jump up inflected, minimalistic release that doesn't take many prisoners. 'Bad Bitch' by Harley D, featuring Scotty, is a perfect example of this, as his vocals lead you in with a distinctive tone before a broken drop emanates with some serious force, subterranean wobbles abound and it's an all-round moody listen. The rest of the LP is just as strong - big up the whole team.

Review: Everyone loves a proper compilation, right? What's better than having a range of artists in one condensed place? It's essentially an album with the ease of listening of a single, so we're all for it. Invicta have come out with the second edition of their one year anniversary celebration and it's packed full of jump-up bangers, one of those albums which doesn't try to be cool or sophisticated by chucking in a few fillers for the sake of diversity - it's just hard stuff here. It works great, with Harley D's 'Forever' the highlight, its jungle influences blending well with a punchy sub-bass and gargles jump up synth tears, a properly stepping track that just oozes class and shows how much Harley D's production has come on in recent times. Sick album guys.

Five cuts deep, each one laced with high levels of funk of mischief, highlights include the rattling drums and early 2000s Zinc style Q&A riff of 'Lesson' the outright drama and foreboding tones of 'Games' and the gritty salute-inducing growler 'Nuff Respect' with UK MC donnie Swifta. Review: The second part of Subway Soundz's Back to the Future album is here and ready to transport you to a different timezone by way of a sonic punch to the ears. They've brought in the entire crew for this one and the list is exhaustive, with artists from Puppetz to Tomoyoshi all digging deep into their jump-up filled Mary Poppins bags. Alphaze and Runnah's 'The Sound' is the album at its best, as a pounding percussive lead reaches into your soul and pulls it out your ears via a crashing, relentless concoction of bass stabs and skipping energy. Blackhry's 'Both' is scarred and torn in its approach, whilst Klay's 'Edo Tensei' is possibly the most creative on the album, with a clever use of space and a booming bassline. Wicked.

Review: Bulletproof are doing us all a favour with this release, simply because it's such a good collection of rolling and chopped up beats. Bulletproof FC is a vibes-heavy, breaksy release that doesn't take many prisoners. There's a whole load of artists on this particular squad and their respective talents move from grinding jump up to bumping minimality, with Elsy blending those two sonic palettes effectively on 'Feel For You'. There is industrial jump-up on 'Elephant March', as well as an especially big cut on 'On My Back', as well as other flavours mixed in. Wicked.

Big Nose Many Hoes - (4:37) 175 BPM Hot

Review: Magenta is back, using his force to compel you to pull ugly bassfaces and throw your drink with a single that doesn't hold back. It's not the kindest on the ears but then again, its not supposed to be, it's a monograph in hard-hitting sonics and dastardly tones. Both tunes are undergirded by a booming snare drum and percussive clarity, but the action happens in the steadily melodic but still raucous basslines, a pitched-up monstrosity of dancefloor proportions. 'Big Nose Many Hoes' especially, and this new one from the legendary Low Down Deep Crew isn't something you'll forget quickly.

Review: Pick N Mix do one thing, and that's pump out absolutely wild cuts of destructive D&B. That's their sole mission and, not for the first time, they've roped in Magenta and friends to help them accomplish it, a producer who is more than familiar with the peculiarities of dancefloor pressure and twisted sonics. 'Distress' is arguably the best cut on the EP, with absolutely wicked drums undergirding a Serum-esque display of dragged-out bass wizardry and gurgling force - the back-end on this track doesn't take any prisoners. The other tunes are trademark Magenta, with the punching stabs of 'Slave' and the stepping aggressiveness of 'Champion Style'. Big stuff.

Religion - (4:36) 175 BPM Hot
Danger - "The Sleeper" - (5:20) 174 BPM
Review: Danger and Magenta are definitely tw of the more rated producers out there, with previous releases on Sun-liminal as well as a host of other labels, their aggressive sound is back with a vengeance here. Packed with harsh, barking tones and a stripped-back, industrial aesthetic, this one doesn't waste any time in laying out the rules: there are none. 'Religion' is one of the heavier cuts, with a punching back end and an obstinate feel of solidness that reflects down all the way onto the rest of the tune. 'The Sleeper' is the flip tune and you can see why, with a KoTR-esque approach to drawn out basslines and tough sonics.

Review: Pick N Mix: A place where full fat variety comes as standard and you're guaranteed to leave with a blazing sugar high and the stickiest fingers imaginable. Since launching last year they've been responsible for a whole barrage of on-point fire jams from the most exciting names in the new-gen D&B movement and for their 10th release they've levelled up the selection in a major way. 20 fresh tracks from 20 killer new talents, the vibes here are so palpable you could chew them. Highlights include the techno-like insistency and of Alex SLK's "Gorillaz", savage tear-out in the form of Vital's "The Game", Zoro's Dread-bass warp wonder session "Buss It", Magenta's MC-fronted bash-about "Purpose", the list goes on and on. Cold Blood - (4:26) 58 BPM
Review: We love a good steppy drum break, there's something about the groove which speaks to the soul in a unique way and this release, courtesy of Magenta, kicks off with a great one in the form of 'Cold Blood', a roughshod, powerful piece of percussive work that underpins a starkly other-wordly bassline, one reminiscent of Souped Up stabs. The flipside is similar and is a tad more rolling, but still maintains that clarity of force so present in BassLayerz's offerings.

Review: Over on Bulletproof, they've come up with the aptly titled Kevlar Vest EP, a various artists compilation comprised of four absolute weapon we presume are the need for Kevlar protection. Vital is perhaps the best-known producer on the release and his tune 'Blown Cover' is full-throttle from the start, a quick paced intro quickly leading into a metallic convergence of energy that's palpable on the drop, its KoTR pedigree clearly audible for all to hear. 'Elections' by Magenta is the other highlight, a screecher that is both painful and beautiful on the ears, a tune perfectly designed to make election day far less depressing with some genuine excitement. This is a top collection of tracks.

Review: There's something about jump-up that forego all social norms and pretence of niceties that really gets us going. It's the freedom embodied by the sort of music that honestly doesn't care what you think, doesn't care what you say about it and the type of people that flock to this musical ethos. All you have to do is listen to the title track of Magenta's 'Go Crazy' to realise that he subscribes to this message and boy, the ttunes reflect it. Full on basslines, crazy samples, undiscernible vocal lines and snapping drums. He's gone in here, and rightfully so.

Review: Cre8ers gonna Cre8: Blackley rallies up the new-gen troops for another batten hatching riot of riff blazing jump up stampers from allies old and new. Label regulars Ironlung and Danger kick off with "Unknown Object", a high frequency squeezer that wheezes with potent levels of toxicity. What follows is a slew of flabby bassline KO sessions. Highlights include Jack The Ripper's darkside stampage on with "Serious" (a track that certainly lives up to its name) Magenta's funky squelches on "Run It", Zeba's sprightly staccato funk on "Party People" and Yoteii's tightly coiled spring viber "Acid Roller". But the true gem of the set has to be "Freedom" by Fanatics. Horny, funky and loaded with wry humour, file under 'switch flipper'. Yes m8s.

Addiction - (4:50) 175 BPM
New Day - (4:34) 175 BPM
Review: Magenta lands on Cre8 DnB Music with Break, a four-tracker with no other intention aside from punching you in the face, nicking your wallet and laughing at you as it steps over your body. That's clear from the off - the title track smacking of Souped Up rollers as it powers past in a flurry of pitched up synth notes. 'DJ' starts off deliciously funky, a gorgeous piano that riff tricks you into thinking it'll be a smooth ride, a deception which becomes clear on the riotous, squelching drop. 'Addiction' steps up the game in terms of drums, it's heavy hitting snare perfectly accompanying a track that very quickly, gets ridiculously fat. 'New Day' isn't exactly similar to LSB's tune of the same name, it's significantly more pissed off and certainly drunker, something evident in its screeching, siren-esque synth lines and diving sub bass. Tune!

Review: Unauthorised bring a brand new talent to the fore; Magenta. New to the label but clearly not new to gully science; there's a unique offbeat funk to his sounds that cuts through the current jump up noise with class and style. "Release The Funk" catches floors unawares in the same way Zinc did many years ago, "Attack" is all about the off grid riff while "Attack" plays Asteroids with our senses as a series of drones and growls do a strange three way Q&A while UA mainstay Vital joins the party n "Lemonz", a sharp tangy riff blaster that's as trippy as it is heavy. Release yourself.

Pesky Digital: Sound Of Things To Come
Physical - "Pharmacy" - (5:29) 140 BPM Hot
Monkey - "Never Knew" - (4:36) 140 BPM
Magenta - "Scanner" - (5:06) 137 BPM
Fused Forces & DJ Cable - "Jack Russel" - (4:09)
Review: In their own words, Pesky Plates are "a new label pushing heavyweight air-wobbling dancefloor smashers". This description hardly does them justice though on the basis of this latest EP which comes exclusive to Juno and features four up and coming sets of producers.

Physical's Pharmacy is right on the money, a tough Dubstep rhythm that's given lots of space without the bass swamping the track's razor-sharp drums. Some authentic Dub horns and snare fills sit nicely underneath the rhythm, while the occasional vocal samples bring it all right up to date. Monkey's Never Knew is faster and funkier, again with some sped-up vocal shots that sit nicely with the minimal percussion. Like the EP as a whole, there's a lot of musicality on display, but it's always subtly used and surprising, never over-the-top and obvious.

Magenta's Scanner is another winner and features an ancient sounding Organ that slowly falls away into an epic drop. Fused Forces and DJ Cable's Jack Russell is probably the most aggy tune on the EP, bringing the bass in spades with a tough drum track to keep it in check.

With releases as quality and contemporary as these four tunes, prepare to have a lot more Pesky in your crates over the coming year.
