Since launching last year they've been responsible for a whole barrage of on-point fire jams from the most exciting names in the new-gen D&B movement and for their 10th release they've levelled up the selection in a major way. 20 fresh tracks from 20 killer new talents, the vibes here are so palpable you could chew them. Highlights include the techno-like insistency and of Alex SLK's "Gorillaz", savage tear-out in the form of Vital's "The Game", Zoro's Dread-bass warp wonder session "Buss It", Magenta's MC-fronted bash-about "Purpose", the list goes on and on. Review: Invicta Audio are doing us all a massive solid with this release, simply because compilations featuring incredible artists are just the best and the more music we get towards our ear drums the better. The Echo LP is a jump up inflected, minimalistic release that doesn't take many prisoners. 'Bad Bitch' by Harley D, featuring Scotty, is a perfect example of this, as his vocals lead you in with a distinctive tone before a broken drop emanates with some serious force, subterranean wobbles abound and it's an all-round moody listen. The rest of the LP is just as strong - big up the whole team.

Review: Bulletproof are doing us all a favour with this release, simply because it's such a good collection of rolling and chopped up beats. Bulletproof FC is a vibes-heavy, breaksy release that doesn't take many prisoners. There's a whole load of artists on this particular squad and their respective talents move from grinding jump up to bumping minimality, with Elsy blending those two sonic palettes effectively on 'Feel For You'. There is industrial jump-up on 'Elephant March', as well as an especially big cut on 'On My Back', as well as other flavours mixed in. Wicked.

Review: The second part of Subway Soundz's Back to the Future album is here and ready to transport you to a different timezone by way of a sonic punch to the ears. They've brought in the entire crew for this one and the list is exhaustive, with artists from Puppetz to Tomoyoshi all digging deep into their jump-up filled Mary Poppins bags. Alphaze and Runnah's 'The Sound' is the album at its best, as a pounding percussive lead reaches into your soul and pulls it out your ears via a crashing, relentless concoction of bass stabs and skipping energy. Blackhry's 'Both' is scarred and torn in its approach, whilst Klay's 'Edo Tensei' is possibly the most creative on the album, with a clever use of space and a booming bassline. Wicked.

Review: Magenta on Gradient... Do we need to say any more? Okay, Magenta on Gradient with an AMPLIFY collab. If we need to say more than that then you're clearly not up to speed on how big this EP is. Six tracks in total, this is the Czech artist's most accomplished collection of tracks so far as he flexes and fires from vibe to vibe. The addictive riffy hook of 'Bad Girl' sets the tone and pace before each proceeding cut knocks us off our feet. Highlights include the savage brutalist funk of 'Two Grams', the hectic dancefloor tension of 'Chance' and the finale cut (with Junger) - 'Position'. Full strength!

Review: Following their launch release this summer, Scoped Sounds return with another many-handed bruiser bonanza. Jay Jay's driving but co-pilots throughout the trip include the likes of Magenta, Pengo and Alphaze as we're flung from bassline pillar to breakbeat post. Highlights include the filtered string sweep on the lead track 'The Thing', the warbling reverse bassline and KO punch energy of 'Everything Cool' and the dramatic stabs and a grizzly bassline twist on 'Questions' but to be real, the whole EP hits hard. A very exciting snapshot of where jump up is at as we skank into 2023.

The title track is a gnarly stepper that means serious business, the deeper vibe of "Love" is a more evocative vocal led cut, while more techstep awaits on "Got Too" and closing it out with the grime-infused roller "Our World".

Review: Everyone loves a proper compilation, right? What's better than having a range of artists in one condensed place? It's essentially an album with the ease of listening of a single, so we're all for it. Invicta have come out with the second edition of their one year anniversary celebration and it's packed full of jump-up bangers, one of those albums which doesn't try to be cool or sophisticated by chucking in a few fillers for the sake of diversity - it's just hard stuff here. It works great, with Harley D's 'Forever' the highlight, its jungle influences blending well with a punchy sub-bass and gargles jump up synth tears, a properly stepping track that just oozes class and shows how much Harley D's production has come on in recent times. Sick album guys.

Review: Pick N Mix do one thing, and that's pump out absolutely wild cuts of destructive D&B. That's their sole mission and, not for the first time, they've roped in Magenta and friends to help them accomplish it, a producer who is more than familiar with the peculiarities of dancefloor pressure and twisted sonics. 'Distress' is arguably the best cut on the EP, with absolutely wicked drums undergirding a Serum-esque display of dragged-out bass wizardry and gurgling force - the back-end on this track doesn't take any prisoners. The other tunes are trademark Magenta, with the punching stabs of 'Slave' and the stepping aggressiveness of 'Champion Style'. Big stuff.

Review: Cre8ers gonna Cre8: Blackley rallies up the new-gen troops for another batten hatching riot of riff blazing jump up stampers from allies old and new. Label regulars Ironlung and Danger kick off with "Unknown Object", a high frequency squeezer that wheezes with potent levels of toxicity. What follows is a slew of flabby bassline KO sessions. Highlights include Jack The Ripper's darkside stampage on with "Serious" (a track that certainly lives up to its name) Magenta's funky squelches on "Run It", Zeba's sprightly staccato funk on "Party People" and Yoteii's tightly coiled spring viber "Acid Roller". But the true gem of the set has to be "Freedom" by Fanatics. Horny, funky and loaded with wry humour, file under 'switch flipper'. Yes m8s.

Review: There's something about jump-up that forego all social norms and pretence of niceties that really gets us going. It's the freedom embodied by the sort of music that honestly doesn't care what you think, doesn't care what you say about it and the type of people that flock to this musical ethos. All you have to do is listen to the title track of Magenta's 'Go Crazy' to realise that he subscribes to this message and boy, the ttunes reflect it. Full on basslines, crazy samples, undiscernible vocal lines and snapping drums. He's gone in here, and rightfully so.

Review: Following the massive EP from Bunnerz last month, Make Your Era returns with another epic care package for all dnb heads. Make way for 'Harley' from Contact Point Magenta. Possibly a love letter to Harley D or maybe the start of letter to Santa for a Harley Davidson next Christmas, either way, we totally approve of each cut here. 'Harley' comes with a touch of sensual soul thanks to the vocals, 'Say You Will' comes with some very quirky, oddball funk, 'Elevator' is the roughhouse jam of the pack while 'Spaceship' sees Maurizzle and Tocsin join the pack for a high flying finale. Review: Either running casually late for this year's Halloween, or remarkably keen for spooky season 2024, two bright new-gen jump-up stars Foe and Magenta link-up for the pranged out creeper 'Afraid'. Moody but moving, 'Afraid' takes a classic mid 2000s flavoured style of jump-up and laces it with really creepy horror sample. The result is dancefloor and double drop heaven. It's backed up with plenty more party-punchers such as the groaning, twisted 'Games' and the murderation murker 'Blood Sport'. All made for mixing pleasure, there's enough tricks and treats here.
