Review: Next up from the Lost City Archives crew, a fiery combination of grime-influenced garage ideas, with the sounds of both Main Phase & Stones Taro landing for a very tasty display. We open up with 'Know We', a melting pot of nostalgic patois vocal overlays, classic grimey string melodies and moody subs, setting the tone perfectly for Main Phase. On the flip to this, a slight switch up in proceedings as Stones Taros deploys a war-ready box of moody LFO drifts, choppy garage-style drum arrangements and catchy vocal samples, making up a vibrant B-side and closing off the PE in styles.

Review: Main Phase has once again delivered a top notch delivery with this new four track collection alongside the awesome team at Instinct. First up, the singalong designs of 'Vibes', an instant classic alongside the awesome patois vocal work of Troublesome, delivering one of the late-coming sounds of the summer across some tidy UKG switchups. From here, more pumping sub thumps and skippy drums on 'This That', followed by the chiming melodic pops of 'Pain' to follow. We then close with another catchy, sub-driven roller in 'Burnout' as Essares provides some additional touches.

Review: With garage now being well and truly back to the heart of everything UK music wise, labels such as Hardline are seeing a huge resurgence, with this latest four track compilation showcasing a real old school feel. We being with 'Da Elusive Ganjaman' delivering a steadily sweeping whomper in 'Da Return', followed by both the catchy vocal hooks and pulsating subs of Wodda's 'Don't Mind Me Original', and of course Main Phase's return with the wobbling bassline action of 'Childist'. Finally Silva Bumper unloads a highly refreshing take on 2-step with 'Body Right', a vocal-driven dripper, rounding off this collection with a real sense of style.

Review: More absolutely stonking UK garage vibes from the ever prolific, ever adventurous Instinct label. Three big, high stepping monsters are the inevitable result as Main Phase makes a welcome return to the label, bringing his distinctive take on the UKG sound. 'Shell' is a slinky groove which benefits from snippets of an MC in full flow dropped here and there, 'Shining' continues the theme with another vocal contribution, this time more sung than spat. '2 Tall' completes the package with the most traditionally garage framework, a sturdy four-to-the-floor beat weighing in and getting involved early on.

Review: Instinct remains at the forefront of the UK garage scene thanks to more heat like this from Main Phase. He follows up standout tunes on the likes of Time Is Now, Dansu Discs and Lost City Archives with his most complete statement yet. Opener 'Treat Me Right' is a lively stepper with lush hits and a wobbling bottom end. 'Whale Dub' gets darker and more stripped back but swings just as infectiously, then 'Nuff' layers up brain-melting bass with rude vocals and 'OG' ups the energy with a pumping old school sound and plenty of characterful details. There is more retro garage gold on closer 'Body' to make this a hugely useful EP.

Review: What a collection we have here as the ever-rampaging Time Is Now Machine unleash the third edition of their 'Allstars' compilation project, featuring six heavyweight originals from some of the most creative dancefloor names about. Y U QT kicks us off with a 2-step masterclass, alternating between shimmering chord stabs and dippy LFO basslines, with the glittering atmospherics and distant vocal lines of 'Regatta' from Cortese and straight 4x4 moogy pulses of Prozak's 'Next To You' in close pursuit. From here, Yosh takes a bit switch up and delivers the post-jungle inspired drum work of 'To Me', which again ups the pace of the whole compilation, with the shuffling 2-step drives and nostalgia-inducing organ chords of 'Pull Up Tool' from Main Phase then providing another different direction. Finally, Groovy D delivers a dancefloor singalong, with the rich vocal sweeps of 'Wun4Me' then putting the final touches on the project and seeing it out in style.

Review: This latest addition to the Lost City Archives series is another corker to say the least, as Main Phase unleashes for explosive creations, kicking off with the sweeping synthetic eeriness and pulsating sub textures of 'Hear Them', taking the junglist flavour in an entirely unique direction. From here the apregiating melodic twists of 'Choral' give us another super-experimental direction, again utilizing those sweeping synthetic textures, before we dive into a more UKG-inspired twist up on 'Ground 0.1', exploring eskimo-inspired synth drives and skippy 2-step beats. Finally 'Higher Dub' delivers a droning display of dubstep-inspired juice, topped with creeping string lines and minimal drum textures for good measure, rounding off this collection with a thump!

Review: Time Is Now have been making quite a lot of noise of late, with this spicy new five track drop from Main Phase proving to be another exciting edition to their carefully curated catalogue. The title track 'Buss It' is a fantastic showcase of Main Phase's production ability, as subtle bass pulses and stripped back 2-step rhythms drive the track forward, closely followed by both the high energy drum skips and warbling LFOs of 'Our Style' and sweeping sub drones of 'Creepin', showcasing the deeper ranges of UKG. Finally, we jump into two additional scorchers, with 'Freaky' firstly providing another sub-heavy experience, before the groovy drum skips and moogy bass pushes of 'Misdemeanour' round us off in style.

Review: Time Is Now seem to have such a knack for finding releases that just breathe colour and originality, a theme that they adhere to once again as they unveil the second edition of their 'Time Is Now Allstars' series. We begin with the smooth chord sizzles of Bakey's 'Dismantle', with Interplanetary Criminal & Hypho's delicate garage-breaks hybrid 'Talbot Road' in hot pursuit. Next, DJ Crisps switches the rhythms for some post-funky excitement on 'Ready Salted', before Yosh takes it back to some old school garage flavour on 'Over & Out'. Finally, the soulful vocal-chord combos of 'Arms Around' from Ell Murphy & DJ Crisps are chased down by Main Phase with 'Special Occasion', another super precise roller, which sees the release out with a bang.

Review: We are taking things old school with this one as Main Phase lands on the wonderful Time Is Now imprint for a selection of three expertly dispatched UKG rollers. We begin our journey with the excellent arrangements of the title track 'Never Let Go', which combines reverberated soundscapes with introspective melodic design and choppy drums to deliver something scrumptious. Next, 'Restless' lets loose more catchy percussive influences alongside a lethal sublime below, before we round the EP off on 'This 1', a throwback big room banger, pushed forward by it's vibrant rhythmic arrangements and tasty bass lines below.

Review: This 14-track VA comp will delight anyone who loves UK garage but has really had enough of partying like it's 1999, as London-based Dansu Discs showcase new directions in post-UKG bass music. Opener 'December' does for Al Green what High Contrast's 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' did for Julie London, and sets the scene for an album that's full of surprises, from the prog-isms of DJ Life's 'Blue' to Pinder's broken beater 'Hot Feet' to Warwick's ominously rumbling 'Only Way'. Elsewhere, Suki's 'Mind Control' could cross over onto deep house floors, while 'Original Style' from Main Phase will please the ragga-garage diehards.
