Review: Part two of the Nuusic anniversary celebration, and the halfway point is just as good as the first instalment. It's more of the label's most standout tracks from the last three years, and Conrad Subs' 'Little Vibey Thing' is right up there with the best of them, a swing-heavy vocal-led jungle number that's formed of swelling bass touches, crunchy drum lines and a nonchalant gem of a vocal, one that's halfway between hip-hop and soul. Margaman's 'Teach The Roots' is a masterclass in simple vibes, with a clean percussive centre and edges that wallow in bassy reggae, all of which is deliciously built into a crescendo with a superb build-up. Proper dancefloor stuff.

Review: Rumour has it that Margaman got his name from his love for margarita cocktails. Some say he got his name for his love for margherita pizzas. There are others who say he loves margarine over butter. Meanwhile at Juno Download we have no idea how this longstanding man who came through on the likes of Dread, Mix & Blen and Mac 2 in the mid 2010s, and been on some of the most on-point new-gen labels in the game in recent years, got his name. But boy do we love his sounds. From the bubble and bounce of the title track 'Jungle Trek' to scorching BC-esque inferno 'Earthbound' via the gorgeous harmonic subs of 'Deep In The Jungle', Margaman hits like a fine cocktail, fills you up like a proper pizza and is as smooth and fat free as margarine. Yet another perfect addition to Liondub International's ever-collectable Street Series.

Review: Hocus Pocus might be a phrase associated with magic, but there's no other worldly forces at play with the Masters of Illusion Volume 3 EP. No, it's something much more exciting: well engineered, well curated, exceptional dancefloor drum & bass. It features four different producers and in different ways they all bring a bit of themselves into the equation, starting with 'Cretins' by Dawn Raid, which snaps and crackles its way through a stepping arrangement and tangled basss nodes. K Jah is deep in the hood on 'Deep in The Hood', urban samples litter the arrangement and the vibe is one of a concrete jungle: hard, with nowhere to hide. Unparalleled.

Review: Liondub International's 10 year celebrations continue with a sense-shocking body slam into the future of the label and its ever-growing family of talented artists. Hitting hard like the label's ever-on-point Street Series, the rollcall reads like a who's who in gully talent: Dutta, Bou, Jayline, Vital, BlckHry and loads more. Whether you want to be completely twisted and spat back out by a brass section (Pharoah's "Fire In The Hole") you'd prefer to be hoovered by a jet engine then shot up into the stars (Jayline's "1408") or you're more into the idea of being rattled around in a big tin bassline can (Danny The WildChild's "Body Moves") this future shock has every physical experience contemporary (but heavily rooted) drum & bass can offer. Review: Not to be confused with the Julia Roberts classic, the Sound of Nuusic isn't a Bavarian epic but instead a UK underground epic of compilation sized proportions, with a whole raft of underground talents offering up a diverse concoction of jungle flavours. With Conrad Subs making several appearances, his stand-out contribution is 'Leave Dem', with a funked-up loping introduction that's seriously smooth but which quickly devolves into a stuttering balance of breaks and reece bass action. There's wicked jungle contributions from Kumarachi and RMS as well as Sheffield upstart Charla Green, whose knock-down breaks carry some serious weight. This is a must-listen for anyone who likes their jungle music.

Review: Behold Dawn Raid's latest magic trick as they and three friends will change an EP into an entire festival before your very ears. The Manchester label owners cast the first spell as "Bela Moca" conjures up sunset vibes so strong you can smell the campfire while Nian Dub charms us deeper into the night with "Glow Stick Riddim" where soulful vocals and strident Quadrophenia style rave stabs. K Jah's sonic potion us into the cheekiest of hours with some all out jungle ruff on "Power Of Darkness" while Margaman casts the final incantation as he sends us off to bed in the dawn haze with a slithering snake like bassline. Abracadabra and all that.
