Review: Tale Of Us curates the next volume of their epic compilation series Unity, featuring contributions from a cast of talent located all over the world. Part 3 maintains the same premise as the previous installments, gathering together a massive collection of 39 tracks designed to transport you into another realm. ANNA kicks off proceedings with the mesmerising dance floor drama of "Cosmovision" feat. Ravid, label staple Colyn takes you deep into the aether on the melodic bliss of "Unstable Gravity Alert" and esteemed German producer Recondite takes you on a descent further down the spiral on the brooding "Runner". Elsewhere, representing the new school, the ascendant Kevin de Vries nails that perfect main room techno sound on the epic "Biohazard", as does Innealea with the slinky and hypnotic "Targo", while scene veterans Argy and Dino Lenny represent their vintage with some equally impressive contributions in the form of "Mental Powers" and "Breathe" respectively.

Review: Mark Reeve follows last year's Geometric on SubVision and this year's outing for Drumcode with this excellent peak-time affair. The title track is a tough, rolling affair, underpinned by pounding kicks and featuring acid-tinged rave stabs. It makes for a functional but distinctive slice of big room techno. On "Meaning Of Context", Reeve shows a different side to his musical palette. While still focused on the dance floor, the wiry 303 lines that Reeve weaves into the track's steely percussive rhythm and cavernous, booming bass show that he is one of techno's most talented new school producers.

Review: Amsterdam Dance Event holds a special place in the electronic music community's calendar, and it just wouldn't be the same without the Toolroom family putting on a very special showcase for the industry and punters alike. The Dutch capital's clubbing culture is one of the best in Europe and there's only one place to be this October. They join the fun once again this year and this are kicking off the week at Chicago Social Club for an opening to ADE like no other. In celebration, Mark Knight & Co. anticipate the event with this solid collection of sonic arsenal with highlights not limited to: label staple Weiss serving up classic vocal funky house on "Let Me Love You" (extended Club mix), legends Dirty Vegas getting remixed by CamelPhat on the extended remix of "Days Go By" (which reaches near acid moments), the ever impressive Alan Fitzpatrick providing austere peak time tackle on banger "The Approach" and rising stars like Jacky (with Example) on the wonky tech house of "Another 24" and label newcomer Maxinne dropping the riveting main room thriller "The Message" amongst many more. Comes with two continuous mixes: the first by Romanian upstarts Sllash & Doppe and the second by Swiss scene hero Mendo (Clarisse).

Review: The last commercial mix that Robert Hood did back in 2008 for Fabric re-ignited his career. Appearing at the tail end of minimalism, its hard-edged sounds provided a welcome relief to the prevailing sound. A decade on, the 66th DJ Kicks finds the Detroit artist once again in firing form. "Focus" signals his intent with its massive siren riff and pounding drums, while "Clocks", which builds and builds to electronic bee swarms, shows that he has lost none of his minimal techno firepower. Sure, there are other fine contributions, like Truncate's sheet metal banger "Terminal 5" and the shadowy riffs of Marcel Fengler's "Thwack" - itself a paean to Dr Motte's "Der Klang Der Familie" - but like the Fabric selection, this instalment of DJ Kicks is all about Robert Hood.

Review: There's a dramatic feel to the latest release on Coyu's label. It starts with the rolling snares and over the top chord builds of Julian Jeweil's "Forum", followed closely by Andres Campo's "Classified". Instead of melodies, the same sensibility is created through the use of rolling snares, hoover riffs and wild filters. Meanwhile, Cristiano Balducci partners with Hard Ton for "Still on Acid". Featuring a breathy narrative woven together with mysterious wailing, the interplay is supported by niggling 303s. Last but not least, Mark Reeve's "Do It" reverts to the same territory as Jeweil's contribution, only this time the surging chords are fused with old school break beats to create the requisite euphoric effect.
