Review: Veteran Los Angeles producer 6Blocc starts 2015 in style with the Truth and Rights EP, teaming up once again with MC Bones after the killer Vibes Music Drums EP that dropped last summer. Combining a classic jungle and ragga influence with modern production sensibilities, the title track sees MC Bones guiding us through a dark and foreboding landscape of bass and drums. "Jungle Ah Rule" takes a different by no less deadly approach, focusing almost exclusively on churning sub bass pressure, while "Bad Boy Tune" continues to pile on the bass alongside some intricate jungle riddims with a techier flavour. Each track comes with instrumental versions, but the vocals are so good you'd be mad to play them without. Killer stuff from 6Blocc once again.

From Akai and Amiga goodness from Kid Lib toTkay's dub; J5's remixes hit hard with 808 breaks and Enuf Talk takes on the dark tribal arts for his offering, there's no room to relax. All killer, all the time.

Review: The story goes that 12 years ago MC Bones gave 6Blocc a cassette tape with over an hour of freestyles and acapellas. The tape was apparently lost until now, where it's been rediscovered, re-cut and laid on thick with some seriously smashing beats. "Vibes Music Drums" is a dark and sinister masterpiece of understated beats. Followed up with "Gunshot A Gwarn", a dive into the dark recesses of 6Blocc's mind with a shamanic dancehall vibe. Darkside amen smasher "Voices Of Xibalba" is a trip through the Mayan underworld, taking jungle to the rainforest with dripping, dense production and otherwordly tribal rhythms. Don't get too drawn in though - you've got to wait for that insane rinseout at the two minute mark. A dancefloor smasher that's stunning too - you can't ask for more.
