Review: Mike Dehnert's MD2 side project provides the Berlin producer with a platform to experiment with unusual sounds and textures - and MD2.5 is no exception. "MD2.5.1" sets the tone for the release, with a grunting vocal tied to a sinewy bassline and eerie synths drifitng in and out of the arrangement. "MD2.5.2" meanwhile is even more abstract; it sees Dehnert flirting with jazz influences and embarking on an odyssey that stops, starts and goes off on a variety of tangents. Finally, "MD2.5.3" is more typical of Dehnert's style, with a robotic bleep sequence acting as the centrepiece in a stepping, techno groove.
