Review: Thirteen may be unlucky for some, but there is no such bad fortune on the latest edition of the Full Body Workout mix. This time, the German label has entrusted the controls to remixer Julian Ganzer - who counts Booka Shade's "Darko" among his reworks - and Javier Logares, who has put out releases for Get Physical and Bar 25. Between them, they steer the mix through reflective, evocative sounds (Doomwork's "DNA"), into tripped out, stripped back house and techno from Mikael Stavosstrand & Cesare vs Disorder and Fabio Giannelli and into the kind of dramatic house that the label is known for, articulated here by the orchestral flourishes of K.E.E.N.E. & Robosonic's "Waters".
Review: Here we find a bag of mellowed out tech at its finest as Melokolektiv slap the name onto this brand new release alongside the Galaktika imprint. The title track 'Where Are You Earth' is stunning, made of up of luscious layers of atmospheric texture pulsating amidst subtly reverberated chord structures and blissfully smooth drum processing. We step up a gear with 'How To Be Drawn' as more aggressive subs and acidic melodies combine over softened spacey pads above. We then have the super experimental breaksy space and metallic arpeggiation of 'Control The Night' before moving into some high profile remixes. Mark E send 'How To Be Drawn' to the chop shop with an imaginative semi industrial revamp, whilst Langenberg techs it up with some moogish design and apocalyptic soundscaping.
