Review: Having released the music from Pete Herbet & Danton Eeprom to Inigo Vontier and Tronik Youth in the past, La Dame Noir have their sound covered when it comes to deep house, funky club, disco with baerlic toppings. This four track various artist EP brings to the table a mixed bag of remixes from the label's other known affiliates like Max Jones, Motel 77 and Middle Sky Boom. The looped vocals of Did Virgo's "Expression" - and its searing synthlines - deliver a trance-like quality, with more EBM inspired tech-trance making its way into No_LP's remix of Sara Zinger. Dawad's remix of "Morning Call" turns in something reminiscent to Miss Kitten & The Hacker, with an indie-electro shake up, replete with rock guitars, hitting all the right spots in Damon Jee's remix to "Shakira".

Review: Eskimo's long-running series of colour-coded compilations continues via "The White Collection", the label's first multi-artist extravaganza for two years. Featuring an attractive, ear-pleasing collection of cuts that are guaranteed to put a smile on your face, the compilation jogs between colourful nu-disco, hazy house, sun-drenched Balearic beats, late night Italo-disco chuggers and the kind of happy-go-lucky 21st century synth-pop that Eskimo does so well. Highlights include, but are no way limited to, the melodious bubbliness of Michoacan's "I Can See", the cowbell-laden Scandolearic space disco throb of Cavego's "Alfred (Og Venene Hans)", the low-slung new wave sleaziness of Eliezer and Rina's |San Sebastian", and the fluttering, hypnotic Balearic bliss of Middle Sky Booming's drowsy "Dreamy Route".

Review: If this EP is to be believed then the sound of Tel Aviv is all about ultra-deep house and moody, leftfield electronica. Niv Ast's 'Rainey Heart' is a slow-building affair that wouldn't sound out place early doors in a Cattaneo or Digweed set with its complex, evolving percussion and low, constant synth drone. Rina's 'Peppermint Bouquet' is a deep tribal jam with a trippy, hazy feel, while Naduve's 'Hex Mex' is a slo-mo number that rides a lumbering rhythm with snatches of Arabic speech, birdsong and other off-the-wall sounds. Completing the EP is 'Marbel Arch' [sic] from Middle Sky Boom, another slow-moving, atmospheric chugger.

Review: Middle Sky Boom is Josef Laimon, a Tel Aviv based artist who has released previously on Newcastle's Join Our Club and now Amsterdam's Night Noise. "Maz'tomeret (original mix)" is the kind of cheeky indie-disco that could equally have been at home on Comeme with its deadpan vocals and punky bass guitar giving way to some fuzzy and cosmic synths later. The remix by Andrew Claristidge is pretty sweet too: it injects some real four to the floor thump and more woozy druggy vibe for playing it out at the later hours of the evening. Second original track "Avenue End" is best described as deep indie disco, if you've ever heard such a thing? Well this is it and it's equally suited to morning sets. The remix of it by AWITW gives it a balearic edge of the darker kind with some wonky synths which will come in handy this Summer.
