Review: Mikrodot has arrived in serious style with this latest four track EP, as expected, delivering naught but top quality dubstep music to the FatKidOnFire imprint. We open up in a slightly softer zone as 'Girl From Twin Cities' gives us a smokey soundscape, dripping in beautiful pad designs and subtle arpeggios, before lethal LFO grinds are unleashed on 'Ember'. Next, 'Enlightenment' fuses drifting, organic drum crunches with subtle subs to match, before the more exploratory bass designs and stripped back drum arrangements of 'Repressed'; give us a tasty closing act.

Review: Few things can excite us as much as a new Duploc compilation, but a Duploc compilation of VIP releases, now that's a treat we will stand up for. Featuring a vibrant collection of 10 brain-busting reworks, we see some of the label's most popular tracks given a lick of 2024 paint, with heavyweights such as ENiGMA Dubz, Leo Cap, Wraz., Grawinkel, and more returning in style. The whole project packs as much punch as one could want across ten tracks, with the clear standout remixes including Mikrodot's nostalgia-inducing ruckus in 'Sun God VIP', next to the system-buckling bass slams of 'Amunjica VIP' from RWB. Top work as always.

Review: The After Dark Music crew are back in business with this fiery new box of warblers from Mikrodot, who immediately injects a new level of 140BPM energy into our lives. Firstly, the title track 'Lost Time', fuses exuberant LFO expressions with syncopated chord stabs and dubby horn delays, setting the tone perfectly. We then jump into 'No Cocaine', another nostalgic thrill-ride, diving through more reggae-inspired musical themes and lethal sub slides, with 'Nobody's Listening' then upping the ante with a more violent feeling around it. Finally, 'Sleuth' delivers a seriously moody feeling', focussing on chiming harmonics and distant vocal delays, closing the EP with a slam.

Review: Next up from the Next Level Dubstep crew, a tidy box of fun indeed as they welcome the explosive sounds of Mikrodot inside, unveiling four tracks of original 140 heat. We begin our dive with the dripping textures of 'Telepathic', a vibrant title track that combines wonky synthetics with sliding subs and moody atmospheric delays, followed by the dubwise processing of chord progressions of 'Babylon'. From here, more wicked bass work as the scrunching synthesiser curls of 'Hypnotoad' deliver a swampy backdrop, with the subtle thumps and dizzying atmospheric layers of 'Wartime Dub', closing us in a typically dubwise march.

Review: As always with the Duploc team, a compilation drop means nothing but carnage as they this time unveil the fourth full edition of their 'BLXCK TXPES' series. Whenever one of these compilations drops, we rush to the tracklisting to see what heavyweight names will be joining us, with the standouts from this latest edition immediately looking like 11th Hour, Hebbe, Oddkut, Infekt & Leo Cap to name a few, all providing system-crunching originals that pack one hell of a punch. Alongside this, RWB unloads a uniquely skippy stomper in 'Amunjica', next to the grizzly synths of Nahliths' 'Shroud', The wizzy LFO slides of Mikrodot's 'Sun God' and of course the vocal heavy stamps of Merricat Black's killer closer in 'Tricky Bizzness'. What a collection this is!

Review: Next Level Dubstep have delivered a delightful box of weaponry with this latest compilation, unloading seven original steppers from some of the seasons heaviest hitters. We open up with the crunchy reverberations of 'Tribez', a dizzying display from Noclu, which then gives way to both the squelching supremacy of Bukez Finezt's 'French Hideaway' and the system-busting sub bulges of 'Infinity Chamber' from the ever-ready Roklem & Sebalo. Next up, the choppy synth slaps of Mikrodot's 'Unconscious Mind' then awaken, followed in their slumberous state by 'Chatter' a convulsing box of distorted rhythm and urgent string work. Finally, 3WA arrives with a typically dizzying design on 'Consciousness', with the lethal synthetics and breaks-like drum crunches of Wolf'd's 'Run!' closing off the project with a serious smash.

Review: Foundation Audio has been keeping the levels of consistency super high in recent months, with this latest helping carry on that theme as both Mikrodot and Chief Kaya link up across four tracks of classic dubstep flavour. We begin with the distant, Asian string plucks and nostalgic LFO chugs of 'Heavy Flow' from Mikrodot, before Chief Kaya deploys a weighty, call and respond-heavy stomper in 'Pull Up'. Back to Mikrodot next as the metallic bass slides and glistening synth melodies of 'Babylon Get Weak' send us back down memory lane, with Chief Kaya's bubbly, dubwise VIP of 'Scale Of Anubis' providing a perfect end to proceedings.

Review: We are always excited to see the Foundation Audio team unveil a new project, with the A&R skills of Chad Dubz remaining at a constant high level. This latest project sees them unveil Mikrodot for an epic dubwise episode, kicking off with the minimalist bass twists and horn lines of 'Big Sound'. Following this, the marching percussion and potent sub-lines of 'Conquering Lion' push themselves forward, before the classic reggae-style chord syncopation and warbling LFO designs of 'Jamaica' emerge, dragging the EP in a different direction altogether. Finally, the haunted overtones and sub rattling basslines and of 'Monolith' rounds off a very impressive collection!

Review: Ah, there is nothing better than uncovering a dubstep compilation as potent as this, the second full edition of 'For The Heads'. We see an absolutely wicked line up, including the likes of 1137, Khromi, Roklem, Borg and more. There are some absolute heaters on this one, including the super crunchy bass movements of 'Extended Dub' from Dalek One, along with the minimalist yet metallic LFO drives of Repulsion's 'Cyclone' and Chapman's emotive 'Cry' original. One track stands out above the rest however comes from Pharma's super spooky 'Sshh' laced with enticing triplets to put the cherry on the cake for the whole compilation.
