Review: As always with the Breakbeat Paradise team, we are in for one hell of a ride with this spicy new selection, exploring a selection of high intensity remixes for the latest Mined & Forrest project. We begin with a raucous intro from Jack Lemmon, who gives 'Funk Toxic' a lick of paint, followed by BadboE's funkadelic rethink of 'Gimme The Best'. Next, Beat Le Juice sends 'Rock It' to the blender with a bass heavy sizzler of an overhaul, followed closely by both B-Side's oldschool chop of 'There It Is' and Mr Bristow's, post D&B recreation of 'Fire Back'. Finally, Mined & Forrest get busy themselves with an explosive VIP mix of 'Coming Through', putting a final glisten on a fantastic body of work.

Cool Operator EP
Cool Operator - (3:26) 150 BPM
Rock It - (4:39) 110 BPM Hot
NY Diesel - (4:20) 150 BPM
My Siren Song (feat Amanda Power) - (3:36) 150 BPM
Review: As always when we stumble across a new Breakbeat Paradise drop, we feel the need to buckle up our bootstraps for a journey into the groove, this time alongside the wonderful duo of Mined & Forrest. We kick off with the title track 'Cool Operator', a punchy funk bomb, stuffed full of gorgeous bass riffidge and scattered drum splashes, before 'Rock It' deploys an array of electronic guitar lines for something a little bit different. From here, 'NY' relaxes the tone with some smooth sample work and expressive pad moves providing us with a sumptuous mixdown, before the emotional string lines and hypnotic electro twists of ''My Siren Song' are joined by Amanda Power for a wavy end to this top quality four tracker!

Acting Like You Know (Crash Party remix) - (5:15) 132 BPM
Review: 2020 has arrived, and with it we are expecting yet another year of experimental breakbeat goodness, especially from the heavyweight labels such as Breakbeat Paradise. This first EP of the year from Mined & Forrest is a perfect way to kick off as we leap into four tasty originals, starting with the swagtastic bass moogs and drum shifts of 'The Big Mama', alongside the demonic vocal slaps of 'Acting Like You Know', the sauce-dripping smoothness of 'Gimme The Best' and the hard hitting bass drives of 'Fire Back' alongside IamLawn. On remix duty, Mr. Ours steps up first for a colourful rethink of 'The Big Mama', with Crash Party providing a grizzly d&b switch up of 'Acting Like You Know'. Tidy!

Review: As ever with the legendary Breakbeat Paradise crew, we are tuned in for another super exciting project as they amass a fantastic roster for the third edition of their 'Breakin The Riddem' compilation series. We see originals from the likes of Venture, Capital, Liberty Chaps, Mined & Forest and more, showcasing a vivid range of dancehall and reggae inspired reworks. For us the stand outs on this one come from firstly Ocelus, who provides a super clean dubwise wave on 'Steppas', along with Pecoe who switches the script up entirely for a grizzly breakbeat anthem entitled 'Bad Man Fiyah'.

Coming Through EP
Coming Through (original mix) - (3:43) 108 BPM Hot
Rock On - (4:38) 110 BPM
I Would Fall (feat LAWN, Stephanie Lottermoser & Eve Lamell) - (5:57) 55 BPM
Funk Toxic (Funkanizer remix) - (3:34) 120 BPM
I Would Fall (Blockboy remix) - (3:29) 135 BPM
Review: It's time to truly unleash the funk as we welcome back the highly respected Breakbeat Paradise Recordings crew with a solid body of work from Mined & Forrest, who impress thoroughly. The scattered vocal samplings and slower, more precise drum sampling of the title track 'Coming Through' immediately demonstrates their finesse, before dipping into the smooth vocal lines and emotive horn melodies of 'I Would Fall' alongside LAWN, Stephanie Lottermoser & Eve Lamell. Next up, it gets more electro with the glitchy synthesizers of 'Rock On', before Blokboy and Funkanizer get busy with their extremely exciting remix additions, rounding this one up perfectly.

There It Is (original mix) - (4:47) 110 BPM
Funk Toxic - (4:06) 110 BPM
Mined & Forrest vs Joker - "Drugs" - (3:55) 110 BPM
There It Is (Jayl Funk remix) - (3:38) 110 BPM Hot
Review: Tampa Florida based Breakbeat Paradise are back with a new one by Mined & Forrest: who are none other than Mined from Obba Select and Forrest Funk. Inspired by classic funk, modern bass design and hip-hop sampling, they teamed up to bring their musical ideas together. Party starting/block rockin' beats with some very familiar vocals to get you singing along to on "There It Is" (original mix) while "Funk Toxic" takes you back to the '80s on this funky joint full of slap bass, a totally electric brass section and a drummer getting mighty wicked. Elsewhere, it's a family affair on the nu-skool shenanigans of "Drugs" featuring Joker, until the EP closes with a bang courtesy of the one and only Jayl Funk remix of "There It Is" which really works that vocal of a certain missy over a street level funk explosion.
