The Duduk
Minista - "The Duduk" - (3:25) 132 BPM
The Duduk (RWB remix) - (4:18) 134 BPM Hot
Played by: Mr Brainz, BURNIE, Dj Pencil
Review: It's always exciting to see a new drop from the Steppers Club team land in the store, with this latest offering being a truly tasty combination of flavours from Minista, one of the more under-appreciated names to emerge from the garage scene in the last few years. This EP is jam-packed with new school garage ideas, kicking off with the bouncy bass action and tidy drum designs of 'The Duduk', a weighty roller laced together with emotive strings and eerie atmospheric backdrops to match. On the flip, RWB joins the party on remix duty, giving 'The Duduk' an even more minimal feel, stripping back the drums to primarily popping percussion and a big bag of bassy energy to match. It's a seriously spicy pairing!

Minista - "Dopamine" - (4:56) 130 BPM
Sam Deeley - "2094" - (4:36) 140 BPM
Review: Now we have heard rumours of the launch of a Steppers Club label for a hot minute, with their tracks receiving high end premieres all over the shop, which is why we are so excited to finally get our teeth stuck into the full project. It's a masterful selection, kicking off with the super bubbly synthesizer pops and tightened vocal sampling of Sensa's 'Long Day', followed by some exceptional horn and vocal sampling on 'Steppin' from Zefer & T-AY-O. Next, Oppidan lands an absolute bombshell with the vibrant drum arrangements and up-beat melodies of 'Rewind', which leads us nicely into the final two originals, Minista firstly steps up with the moogy bass slaps and hip-shaking horn toots of 'Dopamine', before finishing up on Sam Deeley's nostalgic breakbeat masterclass on '2094', an absolute sizzler to say the least.

Review: We thought it was going to be the case that Four40 kicked up another storm before the year was out, and we have been proven right as we jump into this top notch compilation project, primarily assembled by the UKG legend that is Smokey Bubblin B. We can see this one's quality just by perusing the tracklist, as we see top names such as Mistakay, Kastle, Mind Of A Dragon, Royal Flush and more all make their way onto the project. It in fact covers such a wide range of garage music it is difficult to define simply, from the minimal, skippy designs of Perception's 'You Make', to the more futuristic bass instrumentation and design of Tuff Culture's 'Carbon', with Doctor Nick's inspired remix of 'Mind Slip' by SMOAD being a particular stand out.

Scott Diaz - "On High" (Fizzikx remix) - (5:36) 130 BPM Hot

Witchdoctor - "Piranha" (KXVU remix) - (5:09) 133 BPM
Review: Strictly Flava are at it again here as they unleash another bag of highly anticipated remixes, this time bringing back a bag of classics from the likes of Kobe JT, Minista, Scott Diaz and Witchdoctor, some of the labels most popular roster members. Firstly we hear GE's fantastic rework of 'Ur Love', a colourful rebuild packed with bouncy drumwork, followed by a super skippy remix of Scott Diaz's 'On High' from Fizzikx. Witchdoctor is next for the chop as Earthnut steps up for first for a lethal rethink of 'From The Inside', followed by KXVU's funky twissup of 'Piranha'. Excellent work as per from the Strictly Flava team.

Ur Love
Ur Love - (3:56) 132 BPM Hot
Ur Love (Movement remix) - (3:58) 132 BPM
Review: What a time it is for UKG, with multiple revival movements taking place left right and centre. Due to this awesome influx of new energy, labels such as Strictly Flava have been able to emerge and shine with a string of high quality releases, including this latest edition from Kobe JT and Minista. This one kicks off with the heavenly tones of 'Ur Love', which is packed full of emotive energy, driven by deliciously smooth sub expanses and a plethora of melodic elements. This one also comes with a high profile remix from Brighton's own Movement, who switches the track up into a classic 2-step format, ushering forth grimey LFO movements and sharp drum designs.
