Review: Stand up to sit down! DLR's got his best sofa out for the gang as we get cosy post-summer and Minor Forms has nicked the sweetest spot. He's making himself at home, nesting up nice with wriggling vibe-outs like 'In Session' (with the inimitable Freddy B) and the Virus powered groove slug 'Wake The Funk'. Deeper into our chairs we settle as Amoss brings some big cushiony pads on the deep space bouncing 'Take Note' and Creatures wraps us up safe and warm with 'Only Kind'. Last but not least, 'Surround Sound' kicks the back out and turns the sofa into this epic bed of bass. Wakey wakey.

ABLE, Felov, Rekek, Minor Forms, Spektiv, Notequal, Yatuza, Headroom and so many more artists all deliver their most futuristic pieces to this collection, mapping out the next few years of drum & bass in the process. Each cut is a highlight but Tweakz and Teej's hyper-tense 'Involved' and Headroom's bulldozer-like 'Gambol' are particularly spicy takes. Essential for all D&B heads.

Calibre, DLR, Break, Digital, FD, The Sauce and many more all deliver supreme sonics as we slide and glide from groove to groove; Digital plays havoc with our senses with the powerful drum breaks of 'Raggamuffin Bizness', Zero T goes super creepy and tense with the crucial 'Cut Dem' while Total Science show us how it's done with the super breezy and jazzy 'Run It'. These are just some of the many many highlights... 25 years and still fresh. No one does it like Spinback and Quiff.

Review: Developing sonic stature and amassing more supporters and selector co-signs with every dispatch he fires our way, Minor Forms is absolutely killing things right now. Especially with this pivotal Sofa Sound EP. One of his biggest releases to date, the vibes are timeless and nod in the direction of Virus and 31 for inspiration. Highlights include the stone cold rattle and blasts of 'Late Funk' and the immersive zaps and bubbles and ice cold pads and chords of 'Sinking Deeper' with Zero T. Minor Forms - major vibes. Don't sleep on this one.

Review: Have a word son! DLR's 'Sofa King Sick' series continues with another breath-taking collection of thumpers, bumpers and grumpers from an outstanding roll-call of talents. 14 cuts in total, highlights include the creepy tension of Industry's 'Chronic', Sweetpea's classic stepper 'Munka', the real stinky, swampy funk on DLR & Script's 'A Different Style', the stripped back drama and growling subtleties of Kyrist's 'Underfall' and the outstanding tear-up from Trex & Freddy B - 'Go Mad'. Fitting title for such a powerful display of leftfield D&B funk. Sick indeed.

Review: Hello! DLR's Sofa Sound returns to the 'Sofa King Sick' series for a brand new chapter comprising 19 cuts from some of the brightest young minds and established talents across the jungle D&B spectrum. As always with the Sofa gang the vibe is warm, raw and very groove focused and the whole album is loaded with stark, dark contemporary treats. Highlights include the stern grit and drama of Submotive's 'Snowed In', the brazen futurism and moodiness of 'Uppin' The Ante' from Ill Truth, Defex and Bluejay and the siren-raising hype and soundsystem ruffage of 'Live Till 86' from ZeroZero. But that's just three of many many many killer tunes on here. Dig deep and sit comfortably!

Review: C.I.A are the kings of organic drum & bass that's ingrained into the core heritage of the genre, and this EP from Minor Forms is a perfect example of drum & bass that's simple yet devastating. Wrapped around a potent blend of breaks and rolling percussive lines, Minor Forms strips everything back to the bare essentials, focusing your attention on what really matters. 'The Hunt' is among the toughest on offer, a pacey dancefloor cut with a classic array of bending, twisting low frequency textures that remind us of early 2000s techstep, a golden era for the genre this track encapsulates yet also improves upon. 'Big Style' is in the ilk of new school jungle, a movement C.I.A have been pushing hard with the likes of Myth, and this tune is right up there with the best of them; bone-shattering bass sweeps and precisely engineered, extremely satisfying percussive work.
