Review: Lithuanian producers Miskotom are comprised of Mikhail Pletnev & Aleksandra Evseeva who have had some previous releases for the likes of Pleasure Unit and Dreamtime. Recorded with vintage drum machines and distorted synths thrown over to tape in Balearic boss Jim Bresse's studio - these splendid tracks sound like misplaced outtakes from the best of '80s film soundtracks. Besides the slo-mo, neon-lit groove antics of "Ankhesenamun" or "Moonlight In The Desert", we particularly enjoyed the sunkissed balearic (ahem!) swagger of "Hai Bar" and the very Beverly Hills Cop sounding "Midnight Baddie". This follows up some great music on the Ibiza based label of late, by Irish band The Madrigal and the cinematic scores of Sascha Puttnam.
