Review: Robsoul releases usually aren't particularly well heralded, and arrive truly devoid of hype. Yet they're rarely anything less than 100 per cent playable, full of robust, floor-friendly grooves and energetic production. This deep house-meets-techno EP from Miss Mee is a good example. "Toque De Toca" builds in intensity throughout, adding techno-style steel to the classic loop funk of DJ Sneak. The dub breaks up the beats a little and makes greater use of the original's odd Latin funk samples, while "Lamour" laces a delicious spoken word sample over gorgeous keys and a bubblin', acid-tech deep house groove. Closer "Let The Music Surround", meanwhile, is a bassy trip into filter funk territory.
