Inhale
Inhale - (4:14) 140 BPM
Denial - (5:05) 140 BPM Hot
Review: The Chestplate crew have been on fire of late, pushing out some of the most exciting new deep dubstep ideas across the scene which has undoubtedly seen a high energy resurgence over the last 2 years. This time around, Mob Killa joins the crew for a vibrant two-tracker, opening up with the super murky sub designs and vibrant soundscaping of 'Inhale', a stomping sweep through old school, atmospheric stepper ideals. On the flip to this, the more horn-driven designs and sharpened drum slaps of 'Denial' give us a more rough cut feel, making this a very well balanced two-tracker.

Review: We have come to expect great things from the Rarefied team, who continue to deliver top quality releases left right and centre, with every drop being just as unique as the last. This fabulous new compilation is a fantastic showcasing of the breadth in sound the label has to offer, from the stunning musical landscapes of Sibla's 'Entity' score, to the beautiful vocal manipulations of Kodama's 'Talk More' and crunchy drum work of 'Voyagers' from Freud'. The project is riddled with musical genius, but for us, the standouts have to include the crystalized brilliance of 'Distant', which sees Primer & Soukah link up for a piece of musical art, alongside the choppy drum swings and haunted synth bubbles of 'Odd, U See' from Pharma. Incredible work all around!

Blacksoil Records Presents/Compilation Vol 1
Gnischrew - "Panic" - (3:52) 140 BPM
Pablo - "Opertus" - (3:47) 140 BPM
Mob Killa - "Illusionary Life" - (4:40) 140 BPM
AC - "Bomaye" - (4:01) 66 BPM Hot
Played by: NAZA
Review: The team at Blacksoil have put together a selection of catchy little heaters here as they unveil the first edition of their 'Blacksoil Records Presents' series, featuring four potent original dubstep creations. Firstly, we dip into the eerie vocal samples and fuzzy bass tones of Gnischrew's 'Panic' original, which is followed up by a look at the spooky, sub-heavy sounds of 'Opertus' from Pablo. Next up, Mob Killa touches down with some super trippy, shimmering hat structures on 'Illusionary Life', which is followed closely by the dubwise instrumentation of AC's 'Bomaye' to round everything off in style.

Mob Killa - "Sinker" - (3:57) 105 BPM Hot
Mob Killa And Soukah - "Document Z" - (4:32) 142 BPM
Mob Killa - "Out Your Zone" - (3:41) 142 BPM
Played by: GAZE ILL
Review: We feel that Cue Line have pulled out an absolute gem on this one as they let Mob Killa run wild with creativity on his brand new EP 'Sinker'. The title track to begin with is as eerie as they come, shuffling unpredictable percussive sounds and haunting tones above subtle sub work. This is followed by the dubwise flavours of 'Deep Sea Search' before we move into the highly anticipated 'Document Z' collaboration with Soukah, which takes spacey syncopation to the next level. We then finish up the EP with the incredibly innovative triple delays of 'Out Your Zone', which glitches together unorthodox rhythms to create something truly unique indeed.

Review: Foundation celebrate three years and 20 releases with this supersized clutch of deep, dark and forward-thinking exclusives. Painting a picture of dubstep's most exciting frontiers, highlights hang, slide and oozes from every cavernous corner: Drew's Theory provides meditative intensity on "Harmony", Deafblind & Darkimh twist up the drums in the sludge-packing "Concrete Groove", Krease soundtracks your next nightmares with his late night graveyard romp "Hindsight" while Dillard digs deep into the proper roots with its shimmering classical dub designs. Weighing at 24 tracks, Foundation have pulled out all the stops here... A seriously detailed piece of bass music futurism.
