Review: Fokuz is without a doubt one of the best labels in the game, their diversity alone places them right at the top of the metaphorical leader board and nothing exemplifies this better than their Collaborations series. Featuring a litany of artists across almost as many styles, including Molecular, ALB, Critical Event and more, putting this third instalment up there with the others. Molecular's 'What Defines' is darker than what Fokuz is known for and it just absolutely slams the whole way, a proper minimal roller with tonnes of character and more than a little charm. The first track on the album, it sets the tone for the rest nicely.

Move - (6:22) 173 BPM
Get Done - (5:14) 172 BPM
Lurker - (6:29) 174 BPM Hot
Sudden Flow - (5:40) 172 BPM
Review: Attention to detail: Molecular takes the dark art of gully down to microscopic levels with his biggest EP to date. Four tracks deep, each one chiselled with stepper precision, highlights include the DCi4 style minimalism and ghostliness of "Sudden Flow", the soulful skank prowess of "Get Done" and the salubrious rolls and big jazz wafts of "Lurker". And that's before even begin to consider the immense dark vox ripples and absolute thunder of the title track "Move". Fokuz don't mess around... And neither does Molecular. Badboy business.

Review: Fokuz Recordings consistently release some of the best compilation albums around. Their pool of artists is so diverse and so top quality that an assortment of their work is always going to be special, especially when they bring in outside talent like Break and Zero T. Collaborations 2 is what is says on the tin: remixes and other collaborative projects and blimey, it's good stuff. Joakuim's '8am Roller' is the perfect example, a deft piece of piano-based smoothness that rolls out to your heart's content with sultry results, an instant classic of liquid-sized proportions. The Break remix is a welcome addition, as is the steppy yet soulful Zero T remix of Ben Carlos. Another very, very good selection of cuts from the always sublime Fokuz crew.

DJ Ransome - "Arctic Blizzard" - (5:41) 174 BPM
Review: One of the most iconic and prolific labels in the D&B scene, Fokuz Recordings manage to simultaneously show off the best in the game whilst supporting new talent and the results are fantastic. This album - a recap of 2018 - exemplifies their approach. It's full of big names and bigger tracks, including S.P.Y's remix of 'Always Yours' by Macca & Loz Contreras, Artificial Intelligence's remix of 'String City' by Lenzman and Calibre's remix of 'Forward Thinking' by Satl. Whilst these are obviously great, the bigger story lies in the lesser-known participants and their ability to pull at your heartstrings. DJ Ransome, Edlan, Soligen amongst others all come seriously correct on this LP, turning it into a seriously good release.

Review: Having appeared on their sister label Citrus last year, fast rising Portuguese producer Molecular now makes his debut on longstanding Dutch imprint Fokuz with four exceptional constructions: "TWYCF" is a breezy stepper stripped right back to reveal its hurricane soul, "The Whale" blows minds with a weirded out halftime woozy switch, "Choose One" pitches you in the eye of its own rolling storm (and some premium drum production) while "Direct Look" closes the EP on a mean, lean pranged out vibe laced with worming percussion and some very cheeky surprise breaks. Spotless.
