Review: We're not quite sure why this German funk meister is so enthralled by lime sorbet in particular (other than that it tastes nice), but that is what he has chosen to dub his popular mix series. This third installment packs in a hefty 18 tracks and is available both as a continuous mix and as individual tracks too. Highlights include the mini Moog workout of QZ's remix of James Beige, the high-energy riff-o-rama of "Monsterjam" and the effervescent disco-funk of "This Sound".

Review: San Diego crew The Foundation take time to look back over the last few years of badness with their latest 'Revisited' volume. First up are the very tunes the label launched with exactly two years ago 'Be My Own' and the T-Kay remix. Both still slapping the wind out of us with their harmonic riffs and clash-ready beats, now is a perfect time to catch these if you slept on them. Next up come three new VIPs of label faves from the last few years. 'Borda Clash' retains its sweet reggae plucks, 'Babylon System' hits with big rolling drum energy while a VVVIP of 'Ear It Come' closes the show. (The extra Vs are for Veak is Very talented)

Review: Who in their right mind doesn't love upbeat reggae vibes? The answer is no one, because if jazzed up guitar flicks and vibrant steel pans don't send shivers of pleasure down your spine then you're officially not a human being. It's that energy which Ms Dos has channelled into these four cuts, that sense of underground culture and rich urban history which always come with the reggae influence. 'Bring it Back' is especially good, a chilled-out reggae breakdown in the intro transforming into a 170 number in delicious fashion - lovely stuff. The title tune features a renowned sample, before a fresh, spacious and sharp-edged breakbeat tears the roof off the place.

Review: Soul Deep affiliate Textures Music recruits an all-star cast of players to lay down their deepest, juiciest, rolliest, souliest burners for their third Jazz Legends compendium. Featuring the likes of MSdoS and Soul Deep founder Scott Allen, each cut pokes and prods the most soulful, warmest corners of drum & bass. Highlights include the filtered synth breezes on Payback's remix of "Blue Sky High", MSdoS's early Hospital sounding jazz stepper "Dragon's Lair" and the smouldering double bass meltdown, busy drums and gutsy vocal sample on Aquasion's "Rain Days". Crank it.

Review: It's not the first time these European genii have worked together but this is probably the most experimental they have been with their sound so far. Ditching liquid for the washed-out, sun-soaked, sand-worn sounds of old-school dub, track one is an instant synaesthetic trip down memory lane thanks to clever sampling by MSDOS. It's a surprise then, that on the flip is a sparkling, effervescent roller from Billy Green and Severity Zero that would be welcome in any Bukem set. Both tracks have that holiday sound, it's just one is firmly rooted in Kingston, while the other has its eyes on Rio. A great soundclash.

Review: Soul Deep stay true to their ethos with a blinding debut EP from Athens-born liquid funk obsessive mSdoS. First track "Visionary" takes deep rolling bass and rapidfire hi-hats and adds his own special sampling touch to create something a little unusual. "Down To Monaco" is the thrillride you hoped it would be, given its Need For Speed-esque name. Winding through bright, jazzy brass and tough Amen breaks it's a no-nonsense soul-filled ride through the Riviera. Title track "Cosmic Keys" doesn't disappoint, as sci-fi sounds whip past and lighting fast breaks are sonically positioned somewhere in the great beyond. Big bass cements it as a perfect homage to early D&B while adding an interesting spin. Finally, "Dark Matter" builds tension and unease as dark, disturbing bass rolls through passing brass sections and faster-moving percussion. A strong EP that shows while a DJ at heart, mSdoS can produce like the best of them.

Review: Soul Deep regulars MSDOS return, with another four-track assault of decidedly melodic, hooky D&B. The rubbery double bass and snappy, overtly percussive rhythms of opener "My Mind" recall the live shenanigans of Reprazent spin-off Breakbeat Era, while "We Only Live Once" offers a junglist take on John Barry-ish spy-flick themes. "Straight From NY" fuses classic swingtime jazz with floor-focused D&B rhythms, while "Railways" sounds like the bastard offspring of horn-totin' Southern jazz and ripsnorting old skool jungle. Fun, funky and formidable - it's a great combination.

Review: Soul Deep, what a label. The only criticism you could level at these guys is that they release too much music, because it feels as if every single week there's another EP, or a single or an album. This week it's label founder MSDOS and he's dropping Lost Vibes, an EP with a title track that sticks up to its name; soft, gentle and certainly deft in how an array of fluffy sampling sits above a solid drum line. 'Beside Her' pushes things up a notch intensity wise, with a new burst of energy coming from that jumpy amen loop and tight back end, a true bit of liquid funk. Another good bit of A&R from these guys.

Review: MsDOS is one of the most long-standing liquid producers in the scene, and he's someone who has been around the block more times than you can really count, with an endless amount of releases across a host of labels. Soul Deep is the host this time and it's for his Barcelona LP, as part of the label's long-running Artist Spotlight series. It's chock a block with funky, light hearted tones set to a running pace and we especially dig 'Silicon Valley', a synthy number which will stab its way into your heart - not literally. Lovely music on this one.
