Review: Don't ask us how to pronounce his name, but if you want a tip on UK producer Mslwte's sound - its killer! The Subsekt/Noize Facility boss serves up a captivating full length on Singularity Recordings. Following on from the last release from Derlich, presented on this album is a strong connection to rave and warehouse UK techno sounds of the late 90's. Plus, elements of Birmingham techno, IDM, Industrial and dark ambient. It's not all completely serious and po-faced either, there is some tongue in cheek, playful punk attitude in there too. Mslwte definitely has his own sound: and this is exactly why he is on Singularity Recordings. From moments of freeform electronica like "Corporation Slave", brutalist epic "Two Fingers" (reminiscent of early LFO or Speedy J), the tunnelling techno onslaught of "Euphrynichus Amanica" (for something more straight ahead) or the broken and contorted rage of "In Context".

Review: Mr Mau's Orbis Records; coming at you straight out of out of Belgium and continues on with its quest for the finest in hypnotic techno. This time recruiting NYC techno legend Steve Stoll and Northampton's shadowy Mslwte. ?E121? gallops violently through the darklands like a Headless Horseman. ?Insular Tone? is a great one; minimal and loopy techno with a generous serving of overdrive on the kick that works a treat. Then there's three versions of ?Derby? with the original, the pounding cyclical attitude of Steve Stoll's remix (complete with metallic 909 hiss) and then Mr Mau himself with his take which is a real highlight, actually. Bleepy and mysterious Millsian style business.

Review: Hang onto your hats and lock up your daughters, Pareto Park returns with a heavy-duty split release. It starts off relatively innocuously with Waardering's "Tachini", a brooding pulse that climaxes with rich textured chords, but from there on in, things start to go crazy. Ford Foster's "Drugs in Secret" sounds like an update of Robert Armani's rough ghetto techno, with wild sirens going off over distorted kicks. However, it can't compare to George Lanham's "The Judging Eyes Of The Congregation". Boasting a higher tempo, its deranged metallic riffs and screeching vocal is nothing short of apocalyptic, while Mslwte's "Fuck Fashion" is of a similar disposition, with splurging acid unravelling over distorted kicks.
