"The Boss" dons its shades for an all-out Blues Brothers homage by way of a stomping "Peter Gunn Theme" reboot. "This Is How Rock" takes Biggie to the funkiest possible pastures while "A New Pair Of Boots" is a distinctive trip to Latin America with trembling pianos, hip-snapping castanets and mesmerising nylon string guitar strumming. Review: This solid four-tracker from fast-rising German breakbeat geezer Myniemo offers plenty of thrills and spills amongst a quartet of formidably floor-friendly neck-snappers. The urgent, hip-hop sampling rock/breaks crossover cut "Discplex" launches proceedings, powering forwards thanks to some colossal wobble bass and silly vocals (something about tacos, apparently). "I'm Walking" tightens things up, utilising scratches and guitar solos to whip up a dancefloor frenzy. "Boom" mashes up old skool electro, B-more and ragga, all high-pitched vocals and booming synth bass, while "Hasta Pronto" somehow fuses breakbeat and flemenco!

Review: If you (like us) still pine for the early days of the Chemical Brothers and their Exit Planet Dust era fusions of ragged acid tweakery, razor-sharp breaks and choice vocal samples, Planet B Girl will be right up your alley. The original throws those familiar elements into the mix alongside a dash of funk guitar. The results are funky as hell and twice as hot. Quincy Jointz adds some triumphant horns on his version, whilst Fresh Andy goes for a rougher feel on his jolly version. The package is completed by "Planet B-Boy", a droning, all-out breakbeat assault which bristles with Meat Beat Manifesto style industrial funk.

CEZ14's "Mambo No. 14" brings some seriously punchy Latin swing to the acapella of Reel 2 Reel's "I Like To Move It", while Myniemo uses sped-up reggae loops and thick snares and scratches to create a sublime hip-hop battle weapon in the form of "The Battle".
