Review: NaCL is the chemical formula for sodium chloride, AKA table salt. It's also the production alias of London-based Nick Salter - see what he did there? - who here serves up two prime slabs of contemporary funk with a decidedly post-house feel. 'Razzmatazz' packs some seriously heavy bottom-end punch, topping its sub-aquatic bassline with crisply chopped brass stabs and barely-there vocal snips (exhortations to "come on!" and an assortment of grunts and shouts), augmented by flute-like synths, while 'Theme From Funk Moves' leans more towards trad-style funk, with floaty, dreamy keys, a soulful "feel the funk, feel the groove" male vocal and competing vocoder snips.
