Review: Toolroom's annual White Island compilation bounces back this year with a wide range of house styles. There's the lush melodies and breathy vocals of label owner Mark Knight's "Make You Happy". Meanwhile, vocal tracks are, as always, a prominent feature. Pete Griffiths delivers a soulful track in the shape of the piano-led, celebratory "Get Together", while Melanie Ribbe's "Big" is a more subtle affair, with haunting vocals riding a rolling, techy groove. In contrast, ESSEL delivers a throbbing, primal workout in the form of "Sweat". Review: Two heroes of the new breed kick off a new mix series for Jamie Jones' esteemed Hot Creations imprint. Jones began Paradise at DC10 (Ibiza) five years ago and it's gone on to be a huge success, inviting the biggest names in the business to come play alongside his crew of residents. Review: Since launching in 2012, Jaymo and Andy George's Moda Black label - an offshoot of their already successful Moda label - has steadily risen to become one of the most well-regarded house labels around.
