Review: Hearing 'Voices' in your head? Then you're clearly a Grimesy fan. Upping the ante with every dispatch, this return to Nuusic is arguable his most accomplished and widest ranging collection to date as he rinses through the D&B menu and showcases all of his styles... 'Who You Are' is a big hands-in-the-air vocal work out, 'Time To Let Go' is a sub-drenched slice of futurism, 'Soundboy Run' is a straight up soundsystem rinser while 'Treading On Your Soul' closes the EP on another lighter raising sizzle session. Big.
Review: Raise the alarm! RV jumps aboard the good ship Nuusic with two almighty jungle rinse outs. 'Wake Up' sees him linking with Natty Campbell for a skanked-out slapper that demands we all get wise to dark shenanigans going on in the system right now. 'Um Bongo', meanwhile, keeps things 93 with its dreamy pads, brisk beats and chubby subs. Both absolutely slay any dance.
Review: Next up from the Dub, Sweat & Beers crew we dive into the vaults as Imanzi & Mungk join forces for a weighty pair of vocal link ups. First up, the legendary vocal flows of Killa P are brought to the forefront on 'Chatty Mouth' as the eerie use of space and reverberation within the instrumental structure provide the perfect foundation from which to rise. On the flip, we find ourselves on VIP duty as Natty Campbell delivers a new version of 'Bubble & Wind', channelling some serious intense sub-lines below shimmering chord progressions and his own system-ready toasted vocal. An excellent job all around!
