Review: The eighth instalment on Black String is a superb, shadowy release from ND. It begins however in gentle, reflective mode with the deep melodies and broken beats of "FM Dreams", before the mood changes with "Frie". There, lithe, stepping rhythms and crisp claps suggest a stripped back affair at the outset, but then wave upon wave of acid moves in to darken the mood. "Morget" is much bleaker, with half-heard vocals and grungy bass tones flickering in and out of a stepping rhythm similar to "Frie". "Screamer" rounds off the release in a similar vein, with jittery tribal drums undercutting bursts of percussive noise and spooky, repetitive vocal samples.
