American house label Flapjack are intent on bringing the listener dance music that sounds like mom's buttery flapjacks taste (look it's their words, not ours!). Their latest release comes courtesy of veteran NYC DJ Nick Jagger and he's baked a banger. Sounding like a lift from Change, Electra or even Jermaine Jackson, "No Batter" is a sizzling electro-disco jam clearly based on a sample from an '80s crossover soul/dance record. Elsewhere, "So Good" is like a breaky '90s RnB joint based around a classic female soul snippet. Remix-wise, it's really all about Mich Kurz's sleek jazz-garage re-rub.
