Review: Whenever Nomine lands back on his home imprint of Nomine Sound, we know we are likely to be in for a seriously subby treat, who wouldn't want to save the best for their own imprint after all! We open up this sizzling two-tracker with the spooky atmospheric sweeps and tidily controlled drum taps of 'Nomad', a bulbous display of gnarly bass-driven goodness, perfect for sending the ravers into a state of euphoria driven-dirt. On the flip to this, 'Traveler's Cloak', another melodic masterclass, fusing eastern-scale string sweeps with bass-driven structures, giving us a windswept feel, jam-packed with subby pressure from the jump. What a fabulous return this is for Nomine.
Review: Calling all dubstep, jungle, drum and bass and 140 BPM bass tribes. This release features the mighty drum and bass legend Digital Steve Jungle, Ram Records wonder boy Rene LaVice, Nurve - Macabre Unit (from the legendary Macabre Unit) and Nomine himself spanning a variety of genres; but one thing is guaranteed here: bass! This is very ambitious project but this label's got some serious style and they are ones to watch for the future.
