Review: Four varied deep house cuts from Australian producer T Pollard make up the 'Sun Daze EP'. First up is 'Get Enough', a midtempo, experimental number with nods to the LA beats scene. 'Doesn't Matter What People Say' has a more laidback, dreamy feel, while title track 'Sun Daze' itself comes laden with sci-fi FX and a ponderous slo-mo bassline, and would make a fine intro track for your next mix. But if it's more traditionally styled bumping deep house for the dancefloor you're after, then The Posse's remix of 'Doesn't Matter...' is the one to head for, with its Balearic/Italo-house piano riff and overall sunrise-friendly vibes.

Review: A very left-of-centre EP here from Australian producer North Pollard. In its Original form, 'Thief & The Forger' tops stuttering, glitchy, at times almost broken beats with all manner of odd synth sounds that slowly bed down into something a little smoother and more coherent as the track progresses. The Revenge then supplies a not dissimilar-sounding Edit, plus a Remix that ditches the wonk and opts for straight-up 4/4s instead. His Remix is probably the one for Saturday night dancefloor action but the more off-the-wall antics of the other two rubs will work for longer sets, Sunday bar sessions and the like.

Review: In the UK at least, the name Pollard is probably forever associated with good old Su. However we doubt Hi-De-Hi ever reached the sunkissed beaches of Australia from where Thomas Pollard (aka North Pollard) hails. Anyway this EP conjures up the kind of dreamy, blissed out holidays you'd actually want to have (and very far from a Yellowcoat nightmare). "Dream For Me" features crowd chants, hysterical, escalating synths and a deep tropical sunset vibe, whilst "Flight" is all comatose stoner R&B (Tom Day tweaks this into fragile synth bliss)- taken even further on the footwork heavy "Relax Ken".
