Review: On his recent releases under the Nu alias, Rolf Fabian Laumer has giddily fused the smooth, clicking rhythms of minimalist tech-house with a range of global influences. The results have, by and large, been superb, sitting somewhere between sun-kissed warmth and haunting iciness. He's at it again on "Man O To", layering a drifting, chant-like vocal over a backing track that somehow joins the dots between cumbia, dub and tech-house. French maestro Pepe Bradock handles remix duties, first wrapping the vocal around a typically dusty, off-kilter house rhythm, before laying down a slightly tougher, stripped back Dub that's the EP's standout moment.

Review: Ralf Fabian Laumer is no nu-comer (sorry) to music production, boasting a discography that stretches back to releases on Daniel Offermann's White imprint at the tail end of the noughties. This, though, is his first EP for well over a year, and sees him showcase a warmer sound than we've come to expect. He gets off to a flying start with "Endup", an attractive 112 BPM riff on Afro-house that sits somewhere between the humid, new-age influenced deep house goodness of Young Marco and the comforting haziness of Balearic nu-disco. He dips the tempo significantly on the EP's other two tracks, first laying down some hypnotic, dub-influenced slow house on "Cosa Mia", before repeating the trick with the quietly disco-influenced Balearic chug of "Palomita".

Review: The latest instalment of Crosstown Rebels' long-running Get Lost series comes from odd German deep house/tech house fusionist Acid Pauli, a man who looks more like a hairy Open University geology lecturer than a top-flight DJ. Reflecting Pauli's own style, the compilation's 41 unmixed tracks touch on shuffling, eyes-closed deepness, tactile techno, dream house and tongue-in-cheek silliness (the brilliant space-pop of "In My Spaceship" by Jan Turkenburg. More impressively, there are a string of previously unseen exclusives, including excellent tracks from Nicolas Jaar, Nu and Acid Pauli himself.
