Review: From first glance it would appear that Earthtrak have stumbled upon a serious gem of a release with this one as they welcome in stunning production abilities of Obeah for three tracks of pure bassweight. We begin by examining the title track 'Dead In This Ting' which sees the legendary Trim get involved with a typically exceptional vocal performance, using his deeper tones and skippy flows to toast his way through a stunning instrumental display. To follow, 'Bad From Mi Born' arrives which features another well matched vocal collaboration from the critically acclaimed Rider Shafique, who unleashes a system-ready performance to match Obeah's system-busting production. Finally, Eusebeia Truth & Rights provide us with a more jungle influenced rethink of 'Bad From Mi Born', adding a final additional twist to this killer release.
Review: It's time to get down to the dungeon sound as we see Obeah and Prynox join forces via Earthtrax for an absolute gem of a two track drop, packed full of flavoursome delights. We kick off with the hypnotic styles of 'Fix Up', which combines a bag of swampy stepper tones with metallic drums perfectly, topped off with some impressive vocal work from the legendary Rider Shafique. On the flip we are greeted with more dubbed out goodness as 'Influence' brings heavyweight sub pressure to the forefront of the mix, assisted by unpredictable drum delays and spooky atmospherics appearing left, right and centre.
