Review: Once again, the crew behind The Sauce Recordings have decided to deliver us a box of festival ready selections, welcoming five D&B heavyweights inside for a sumptuous display of original high tempo energy. We open up with the chilling horn sweeps and big room bass drops of Zero-T's 'On The M.I.C', a fragrant explosion of junglist juice, followed by both the unusual rhythmic switch ups of 'Sweet Chilli'. From Genic & Tracker, and the system-rumbling sub designs of 'Burnt Toast' from Objectiv. The high octane adventure then comes to a close with a look at 'Your Style', a bulbous roller, taking minimal percussion and lethal bass booms to round off the project in style.

Review: Sealed with an X: Flexout Audio continue to celebrate 10 years of deep underground dynamics with label founder Bassi's curated X collection. Featuring cuts from all previous X instalments, plus the extras that all landed in the last few weeks, the 27-track strong set is a great snapshot of where both the label and underground drum & bass is at right now. If you're into that deep dark rumbling minimal futurist vibe then every track is a highlight but essentials include Visages immense 'Polarity Code', Sili's precision springer 'Gallop', the cosmic twisted synths of Wingz's 'Broken Path' and Wreckless's tense and sobering 'Don't Want To Forget How Your Voice Sounds'. Review: Mlh is landing on the always consistent Ransaked with a five track EP for your ears. Mechanical Specrum blends more rolling sounds with the groaning, jump-up influenced bits that we know well from the scene at the moment, and the combination is a fierce one. 'Mechanical Spectrum' features the always good Objectiv on the remix and it packs fantastic drum work, with snapping snares interlocked with shakers and big kicks to propel a spinning, twisted bassline that reminds us of work done by The Sauce. 'Mechanical Spectrum' is more massive and made for the dancefloor and it's in this area that the LP excels, especially alongside tunes like 'Assassin VIP' and 'Chant'. Wicked.
