Review: Comprised of the results of a competition run by Bleep, Filtered gathers together ten unsigned artists cherry-picked from over 4000 submissions. As you might imagine the style ranges all over the shop, but there's really stand-out material on offer. Gidi's "Move" rolls on an addictive breakbeat, using a powerful soundsystem sub bass for maximum rave delight at the drop. ImagineIAM excels with his deranged "Slang", as a room of shouty vocals duel with mind-boggling kinds of organic percussion arranged into a punchy kind of funk. S P A C E S also deserves special mention for the razor-sharp slices and awkward time signatures that make "Apologies" such an ear-grabbing listen.
