Review: US D&B talent Oddsoul returns to Soul Deep with three alluring moments of rolling gold. "Drift" has that classic Logistics feel with its whirling reverse textures and emotive R&B-style harmonised vocals, "Ghost Stories" flows with a trippy, dreamy sense of cinematica as the chords and instrumentation glisten with a shiny softness and "Mango Sky" flutters with an unhurried sense of warmth and emotion. Some very understated and classy touches right here.

Review: Pretty, soulful drum & bass. Who doesn't want a piece of that? Oddsoul kick off this mini EP with a Colossus remix of their beautiful track "Summer Lovin'" featuring Anastasia, and what a remix it is. None of the delicate melody is lost but still Colossus manages to weave a huge, addictive bassline through the melody. "Once Upon A Time" by newcomer Kredit is a stunning follow-up, pitting big bass wobbles amongst pretty piano and ethereal atmospherics. Rounding off the release is NotioN's "A Poet's Tale", a beauty of a track with a beat to get you moving and a sampled clarinet to tug on your heartstrings. How often does dance music do that?

Review: With a mission statement to only release the finest quality funk, intelligent and neurofunk, Belgian label Influenza Media have only one thing on their minds: is it funky enough? This compilation EP is a snapshot into their world of rolling liquid and soulful vocals. First track "Transitions" by DJ Clart & mSdoS features the cut glass vocals of LaMeduza and is a stunningly lovely example of how soulful drum and bass is still relevant in 2013. "Don't Stop" by Brazillian liquid producer Simplification is a chilled journey through sunkissed sounds and a killer beat. "Lazy Days" by - you guessed it - another South American, has a cheeky swagger and plenty of character. Producer Pixel adds interest with sound fragments and pieces of samples, creating a scrapbook of sounds, while Mojo's "Summer Lovin'" adds beautiful glimmers of Piano to a satisfyingly full-sounding track featuring wistful vocals from Anastasia. Worth its weight in liquid gold.
