Review: Hague-based Offshore & Coen return to Lazy Days following a fine recent outing on Atjazz Record Co. The Dutch deep house duo is in fine form, too, with all four original productions on show hitting the spot sonically. The centre piece of the EP is arguably 'Everything Passes', a gorgeous chunk of synth-laden, melody-driven deep house beauty that Freerange regular Matt Masters subsequently turns into an even deeper and more rolling late-night affair. There's plenty to get the blood pumping elsewhere across the EP, including opener 'Around Midnight', a hypnotic and sun-soaked number driven forwards by a memorable bassline, and the breakbeat-driven deep house dreaminess of 'Acquiescent Song'.

Teaming up with regular collaborator Paya, their upcoming EP, Hold On, is a pure delight. Next to the mellow, disco-synth-pop of the lead cut, there's B-side groove "Deep Inside, paying testament to the Dutch duo's expertise, offering a melodic, groovy, and beautiful journey that transcends the confines of a European winter. Review: French label Citizens Of Vice, self-described purveyors of "Balearic, disco and house for those of a sleazy inclination", bring us a V/A EP whose six tracks defy easy categorisation. For house lovers, though, the best places to start would be Crooked Man's atmospheric 'Illyrian Song' and Lanowa's disco-infused 'Every Move I Make', while elsewhere, 'Sons Of Dub' is one for wonked-out 5am floors, Offshore & Coen explore nu-disco's leftfield fringes, 'Love Of My Life' from Staccatoman brings the 80s/Italo vibes while Mass Density Human's 'Henry's Theme' starts out in drifty Balearic territory then slowly builds into a thunderous percussion workout.
