Review: A legend in the making of French electronic music and adored for his 2006 album Epiphanie - with hits like "Midnight Swin" - Para One presents his first full-length album since 2014 entitled: Machines Of Loving Grace. Said to be released as part of a trilogy called Spectre, part one finds its inspiration through what's been described as Japanese anime soundtracks, Bulgarian folk, Indonesia's gamelan music, Steve Reich and Detroit techno. Akira fans will no doubt hear these influences in numbers like "Silicon Jungle", "Shin Sekai" and "Ars Nova" which double down on something Reichian all the more in "Atlantique". With this project said to be seven years in the making, and remixes on the way from Actress, Call Super, Ricardo Villalobos and Hot Chip - welcome back Para One!

Review: Girlhood is an acclaimed new French movie about a disillusioned young girl who joins a female gang in order to escape her dead end life. To add to the drama French electronic producer Para One has been drafted in to score the flick. It's a richly rewarding 10-track listen that fully complements the film's highs and lows: from the sweeping synth emotion of beatless opener "Neon" to the glass chime whimsy of closer "Girlhoood (reprise)", taking in the otherworldly synthpop of "Slow Down" along the way.

Review: Taken from last year's spotless album Passion, "Every Little Thing" takes contemporary R&B-fuelled hip-hop and runs it through a more futuristic bass machine.
