Featuring some of their most exciting names (Enta, Profile, Chris Kastro, Traumatize, Parallel, DJ Limited, to name a few), the vibes are some of the most forward-thinking and exciting that Bio has ever released. From the eerie soul and crisp ripple of Parallel's 'District 9', the oddball wobbles of Grimmo's 'Like That' and Enta and Kastro's utterly scorchio 'Insult To Injury' are just a few of many sick examples. It's been proved time and time again with hurricane releases from the likes of HYN, Dreadnaught, Formula, Parallel and many more exciting new names. Now, with a good few years of building their discography with exceptional new-gen talent, comes the remix EP. A whole load of the label's best and brightest, remixed by each other and fellow label kindred spirits. Highlights include Stuss's dramatic sledgehammer twist on Para's 'For You', Nautik's tense and grizzly take on Hyn & Pengo's 'Frequency' and Drowzee's head-twisted rhythm on his rub of 'Selecta'. Review: Over on Juno regular Timeless Audio, Kastro and Parallel are giving each other the collaborative treatment in a really cool, well put-together EP that'll please heads from all sides of the scene. The first comes from the pair themselves, and they've flipped the original into a brooding, creeping piece of music that feels cold, tight and packed with latent aggression just waiting to emerge. 'The Firing Line' by Parallel wears its heart slightly more in its sleeve, as he rolls out amidst a flowing arrangement of bouncing sine stabs and carving bass patches. Wicked.

Review: Twisted's Grid switch to full blast once again with another collections of what they call 'Head Nodders' but us mere mortals call 'deep, tense, stinky bangers'. Featuring a full cast of familiar Gridsters, the vibes range from the farty party of Jando's opening 'Jaguar Trap' to the Dutch oven noxiousness of Parallel's screaming finale 'Warped Entity'. Between these two points we have the trumpy pumpy ruffage of Damage Report's 'Punch Bag', the trippy steamy vapours of Oli Lewis's 'Just You' and the air biscuit crunch of Jaxx's swashbuckling 'Horses For Courses'. Smelly.

Review: As if firing out badness galore through their 'Connected' series wasn't quite enough action for a label that's barely been around 6 months, Amplify and Metal Work's Gradient levels up again with the massive 'Foundations' VA that's stacked to the top shelf with some of drum & bass music's finest upstarts and high risers. 15 tracks deep, highlights come in all shapes and sizes including the sensual textures and tones of D-Fuser's 'Sticky Situations', the madcap jazzy springs and splutters of Fanatics' 'Everyday', KL's revved up staccato sizzler 'Plain To See', Metal Work's rather glacial 'Cold As Ice' and Parallel's early D-Minds style 'Capital Crimes'. Killer through and through, 'Foundations' as strong as this are built to last.

Review: If you love expertly made drums, this will be the EP for you and although the basses are potently heavy, they rest on a foundation of percussion that's just pure vibes. It comes from Parallel on Pick N Mix, one of the best new age jump up labels, and it's a six tracker of devastating proportions. 'Man of Many Skill' is a proper roller, a track packed with sheer guts, as a movie sample spreads out above a direct, pummelling bassline that finds its excellence in its own simplicity. 'Rockers' has a fantastically infectious drum line that bursts with movement, while title tune 'Dream' has wide synth lines and an edge-of-the-seat, stepping drum line. Pitch perfect.
