There's always been something rather picturesque about the productions of Berlin-based Parra For Cuva. Even so, this expansive EP for Traum is arguably his most beautiful collection yet. "Veiled in Blue" is particularly impressive, with yearning melodies and dreamy vocal samples seemingly drifting over a snappy, undulating electronic rhythm. There's more shimmering goodness to be found on "Turning To Rest", while "Elera" laces beautiful pianos, stunning strings and wide-eyed vocal samples over a subdued but floor-friendly groove. Two stunningly picturesque organic-meets-electronic collaborations - one with Ascii Code, and the other with Viken Arman - complete a superb EP.
Monaberry is a label run by Halle-based tech house hooligans Super Flu, who also appeared on Herbert's Best 06. There they collaborated with Viktor Takling Machine on "Plastik" which samples Lil' Louis' classic "French Kiss" on this epic Innervisions style house excursion. The bittersweet and glitchy deep house jam "Number's Station" by Robot Love sounds like classic Stimming, not bad! Martin Waslewski's "Kwaiet" or Parra For Cuva's "Borneo" are the kind of dreamy and ethereal journey music you'd expect to hear at one of Lee Burridge's All Day I Dream parties. Nice one fellas!
