It's been a long time between drinks for Norwegian producer Pfelics, whose production career is six years deep, but whose last original material dropped - on a multi-artist EP, no less - some five years ago. There's much to admire on this long-awaited debut EP on countryman Prins Thomas' Full Pupp label. Lead cut "Capitello" is a genuinely sweet and cheery chunk of synthesizer-heavy Scandolearic disco, with distinct hints of new age ambience and classic house. The accompanying remixes are pretty tidy, too, with DJ Fett Burger's humid, sticky, bassline-free new age interpretation contrasting neatly with CHMMR's chunky, Scandolearic-meets-P-funk-in-a-Berlin-basement style rework. Bonus cut "Voyage", a decidedly cheery, boogie-influenced nu-disco workout, is also pretty tasty.
