Review: The Stanton Warriors must never sleep, what with all their own DJ and production commitments as well as the running of their Punks label. Here they've found the time to discover a whole new swathe of fresh talent, enough to fill this mini comp at least. Barely Royal & Bunnie are up first with the dubby electronic UKG weirdness of "Blessing", Pelikann goes for raw ghetto vibes on the Drop It Like Its Hot-style "1,2,3,4". Crawford, meanwhile delivers the mechanical repetitiveness of "Life" and Monikr closes with the spatial minimalism of "Head Down Low".

Review: "Bring On The Trumpets" sees UK south coast producer Pelikann fusing aspects of trap with dark garage beats and dubstep basslines to create a hybrid that's so heavy you'll need to go on a diet after digesting it. Remix-wise Archive sticks on extra pounds by supersizing the bass tears and making the kicks even chunkier. "The Mask" takes more of a tech approach with a dynamic uncompromising, unrelenting rhythm, a deep space drop and twisted spoken word sample. Looking for a two-step twist? Jump on PVC's remix. Grizzly.

Review: One of the elite force of UK artists pushing their breaks into a whole new field, Pelikann is in an exciting position right now as he traverses from garage to via drum & bass and halftime. This is arguably his most diverse and wide-ranging EP to date: "Buffalo" takes us on a deep dubby trip while "Black Hippo" joins the dots between dub and jazz with summer-breeze effortlessness. Finally "Majesty" takes the crown and chows down on its gritty glittering spikes with fired up drum & bass menace. Lit.

Review: West Midlands' finest, Pelikann is back with his third release for Saucy, a self-proclaimed 'face melter of an EP' called Jupiter. It features three new original tracks and extra mixes. Things begin with the remarkable a sinister title track - a twisted fanfare featuring a nervous gasping recurring sound. Elsewhere we get slinky bass and punky beats on Tri3e and Underground Traffic's mixes. The monstrous "Godzilla" is followed by the viscous "Tight" and "R.P.A.F.A." which brings unexpectedly precise grime vibe to the EP. Further shout outs go to Pelikann's own VIP mixing skills and the jagged bass of WATSN's version.

Fak Off (Grande remix) - (3:50) 63 BPM

Review: The UK's Pelikann glides mightily high on the nu-dubstep waves these days, and he's landed firmly on the Saucy clan's catalogue with a fluttering blend of percussion-driven squelchers. "Wolf" is a sludgy, four-to-the-floor monster with plenty of wobbles and grizzly low-ends, and backed by Hywel's more stripped-back version. "Hear Me" is, of course, dark and menacing, and filled with horsepower, but the groove is leaner than its predecessor, leaving the club slashings up to the remixer, Distro. The aptly named "Fak Off" ties things off with deep bursts of power drums and bass stabs, followed by Grande's housier version of the original. Mean.

Review: When the mighty Pelikann last appeared on In:Flux Audio he was sharing the limelight with Tik & Borrow. Now though he's graduated to having own full release...and it's a killer! There are four originals featured: the title track - all hypey high frequencied wails and jump up beats. Jay Robertson delivers a standout remix, where deep house bookends a minimal abstract malfunctioning robot of a tune. Elsewhere we find the doomy urban growls of "Laughing Cow", the all-out 4 x 4 assault of "Your Mum..." (all intense wobbles and paranoid effects) and the dubby return-to-the-source old skool dubstep flail-about "Soundboy". Safe sounds.

Review: Pelikann (aka Jack MackMersh) is a West Midlands producer who is currently taking the UK's bass scene on an epic journey via his fearless genre-hopping approach. This, his latest release on Saucy, boasts three originals and some remixes too. The title track is mega hyped ghetto breaks with super melodic synthy fizz, "Badboy Sound" is all about the relentless subby fuzz-stabs (given a demented percussive makeover by Affiliate) and "Calm It" incorporates a nasty bass hum into a breaky bounce-a-thon. Rho reworks the latter into a super-fast DnB jam whilst "Spectre" becomes a jungle snarler thanks to Data 3.

Review: For their latest output, In:Flux have decided to combine north and south, with Southampton's Pelikann sharing the stage with Leeds/Sheffield act Tik&Borrow. The former delivers the mechanical mid pace grind of "Lie Low" which is sped up and turned into a nastier piece of work by King Hydra and a snarling bass beast by Tik & Borrow. The latter also produce the dark, "Parallax", an irritable percussive monster that gets reworked into awesomely sinister UKF by Karl Vincent & Tee and into an otherworldly 2-step/4 x 4 hybrid by Pelikann. A complete meeting of minds.

Review: Here U Wot Blud have reached out all the way to Austria, home of rising star Robsi Mantoura. Having spent some time in the UK absorbing the bassy sounds of Julio Bashmore and his ilk, he now gives us EPs like Spread Love. "You & I" is warm, skippy house with extra sprinkles of garage and wobble for good measure. Pelikann toughens it up with starker snare rolls and chants whilst Melinki goes for orchestral DnB and Pavv opts for straight up wobble. Finally the original "Love" is more soulful with nods to 90s garage and even some sax!
