Label owner Dubspeeka opens the account on this new split release with "Blackout". Underpinned by a linear, pulsing rhythm, tonal bleeps and propulsive percussive elements cut through atmospheric textures like a searchlight in the fog. It adds up to an impressive techno track, but the other contributors maintain this quality. Per:sona's "Holder" is an immersive, dubby affair, pieced together by sharp hi hats, while on Kullen's "Thirteen", bells chime their way over wooden drums and a tight, stepping rhythm. Last but certainly nor least, is Ice Station Zebra's "Cancelled". Deep and dreamy, its melancholic textures and half-heard vocals are supported by the kind of lithe drums that will make it ideal warm-up material.
