118 BPM Review: The We Mean Disco label has long boasted about their affinity for the work of Larry Levan. Here, they deliver an EP of "re-imaginings" of tracks that became anthems at the Paradise Garage. There are a trio of remakes of NYC Peech Boys' killer "Don't Make Me Wait", with Oscar R's surprisingly faithful, piano-heavy "Take 1 Reprise" edging out Phil Pot's more nu-disco influenced "Original Dating Groove" in the "best version" stakes. The EP's other two moments offer more straight-up disco thrills, with "Damn Damn Damn (All Night Long)" delivering some deliciously throaty disco-funk for peaktime floors.
